Slimming World or Weight Watchers

Hi,

Hope I've put this in the correct place but jut wanted to canvass some opinions on whether you would recommend Slimming World or Weight Watchers?

I had my son 12 weeks ago and now feel ready to start working on losing my excess baby chub? I don't think I'll be able to make meetings so would be looking to join online.

Would love to hear from anyone who does/has done either SW or WW and let me know what you think and which you think is easiest to follow!

Thanks!

You've posted this in the Slimming World forum so may get some slightly SW-biased replies Wink

I've lost almost a stone on SW in four weeks. I bloody love it. I have two stone left to lose. It's basically based around eating fruit, veg and lean protein plus some 'healthy extras'. You are also allocated a daily 'syn' allowance to use as you wish.

The downfall is that it does require planning; to get the most out of the food optimising thinking you do need to cook fresh stuff sometimes. There are ways around that though.

I am contemplating SW, after following WW. It is the planning and prepping that scares me, as I am a lazy cook and busy but I think it will help me be more focused. Plus I think it will help me to make better choices for the kids. The 2 times I have had the best success with slimming world was when I was on maternity leave as I had more time at home (I know you are still busy with a baby) but I found it easier to prep/plan rather than now when I am out the house for 12 hours a day. Good luck whatever you decide. I am 90% sure I am joining SW on Saturday.

Thank you! I do like the sound of Slimming World and I might as well make the most of my maternity leave to try and get into the habit of prepping healthy meals. I was leaning towards SW as I follow a lot of Instagram SW bloggers and they all seem to be doing really well.
Wish me luck. I want to lose 3 stone before September as it's my best friends wedding and I don't want to feel self conscious in the photos! X

I've just started slimming world and have also just had a baby 10 wks old.

I haven't had a weigh in yet as was due today and shut for Easter. I've found it really easy to follow and feel really good, I'm hoping I've lost a bit.

I've done weight watchers before and didn't really get on with it, you have to point pretty much everything and it was annoying to have to weigh all the meals and ingredients etc

With slimming world the free food (pasta rice meat potatoes etc) doesn't need to be weighed and it's easier to cook a meal for the family and just take a portion rather than working out exactly how much I've had. The key with slimming world appears to be portioning a reasonable amount of fruit and veg into each meal.

If you are breastfeeding too you get extra milk / cheese (healthy extras) for each day x

Similar situ here too. 10 week old baby and I'm thinking of doing SW. Got at least 2.5 stone to lose!😩
I've heard it's really good so hopefully it will work! Good luck!

My DS is 6 months and I started SW 4 weeks ago - lost 12lbs in my first 3 weeks, even with all the additional dairy you can eat when breastfeeding. So I'd definitely recommend it!

I've been in both, was in WW for years and both are good but I find SW much more enjoyable! I find it more flexible and healthier.

I am following Weight Watchers no count plan which is very similar to SW apart from WW bread and wraps Shredded wheat ect as well as skimmed milk are all no count
I have found how best the leader suits you helps more than the type of plan our WW leader is a very upbeat bloke where as I found SW a bit patronising and meetings were very very long
