Well done love on your 7.5lb loss, is that your first WI? Great start to your weight loss.

Doing an SP say today, and possibly tomorrow. I am praying I have more than half a lb loss on Tuesday as it's my op on a Friday and I just know I'll not be in the right frame of mind to stick 100% to the diet, plus DH wants a M&S valentines meal dea on Tuesday, we do it every year and he will be most huffed if we don't do it this year.

Hello ..... I lost 4st 6lbs last year .... and I'm still chasing my 4 1/2 st award!! Let's just say I enjoyed Christmas & NY ....
With any luck I'll get it this week .... or next.

I read about someone else losing a quarter of their original weight, and though that sounded bizarre ..... then did my sums and realised it's pretty much 25% I've lost Smile

Another 2lb loss today! Delighted!

I'm glad I chose Sunday as my weigh day, I find weekends hardest so it keeps me to plan knowing I could scupper any weight loss that week if I go off plan on a Saturday and weighing Sunday morning and seeing a weight loss keeps me motivated on the Sunday!

12lbs off in 4 weeks so far!

Hi new to this site and slimming world does anyone now if you can still lose weight by just eating free foods or do you need to have speed foods as well

Report
BasinHaircut · 12/02/2017 11:10

Well done dance, yeah I think the same about weighing on a Monday. Could have done a Thursday but I thought I'd get carried away every weekend if I did it that way around. This way I know that if I relax on a Saturday I HAVE to get back on it on Sunday if I want any chance of it not showing on the scales Monday night.

Just tried the M&S skinny sausages. I wasn't impressed and DH couldn't even eat them he thought they were that bad. Will stick to the Linda McCartney and Heck chicken italia from now on!

Brunch was 3 skinny M&S sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans, mushrooms and courgette fried in fright. I'm stuffed.

Welcome newbies.

I've lost more or less a third of my weight Shock

Skin, you might lose weight with just free foods, but I'd imagine it would be slow going. The whole point of SW is replacing a third of your free food with speed foods, which are low calorie but filling. If you don't like fruit and veg, then I'd say SW isn't really doable.

Well done dance!

Yes Lemony it is my first weigh in.

So the things I think I am going to struggle with are pizza.... nothing I have seen has convinced me it is a good substitute for pizza and also fajitas. I think I will try the egg wraps but not convinced by them either.

Other than that I am doing ok.

I'm nervous about my first weigh in on Wednesday. Is it normal to get nerves before?

Report
ALemonyPea · 12/02/2017 11:33

Grundys, I feel nervous every Monday night before my weigh in on Tuesday morning. And I've been going almost a year.

Love, you can have WW white wraps as a B choice, just check the app for which one. Also, Aldi crusty wholemeal bread flour makes a nice pizzamfor your B choice or 6 syns. I do an SP day so I can have 2xB and a decent size pizza.

Well done love and dance on your losses! What's everyone having today? Currently knocking up a pasta dish ... in need of the food shop delivery so a random combination of spaghetti, babybel light and some veg ! Sinning the babybel too! Roast for tea later too yummy :) x

Hi everyone.

Making Roast Turkey for tea. Going to the cinema with the girls. Got baked oats to take with me and some popcorn.

Report
OneOfTheGrundys · 12/02/2017 12:08

All that sounds yummy.

I'm having lentil soup (it's a lovely recipe) and 1 slice whole meal (synning) for lunch and roast chicken for dinner.

I spied a good coleslaw recipe free somewhere but can't remember where now... Any ideas?

Well done losers - love 7.5lb is a great loss!

Really struggling on weekends. I think I might change to a Monday group if my weight loss stalls - currently wi on Thursday.

At the minute I'm great Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and crap on Friday and Saturday. So going to really try next week. Having said that, I'm currently happy with the rate I'm losing - w1 6.5 w2 0.5 (totm) w3 3lb wk4 2lb but suspect the weekends will ultimately jeopardise my weight loss.

I made pizza last week using a wholemeal wrapping as a base and just syning it, turned crispy in the oven and was lovely! Also made them using wholemeal pitta as a base too if you prefer a thicker base?

I had slice of wholemeal toast with spreading cheese (heb b and some heb a) with a banana and nectarine for breakfast.

Lunch will be bacon and eggs and fried pineapple (lovely honestly!)

Dinner is leftover KFC chicken which I made last night with salad and rice.

Yesterday I discovered popadoms are only 2 syns so going to swap my packet of quavers for 2 popadoms over the next week for my savoury craving times!

Marking my spot, I'm mainly lurking rather than posting but find the thread very helpful.

My weigh in is Thursday and I am a bit guilty of lapsing on Fri/Sat as a result but as I'm only aiming for a 1lb/week loss it works pretty well for me.

Drquin · 12/02/2017 12:58

TheSkin .... it is doable, to do SW without eating any speed. But you need to consider the logic.

The idea of the 1/3 speed on any meal, is to encourage you to look at portion sizes. Think of having say chicken breast and rice or potatoes ...... if you have a tendency to fill the plate with yet another lump of rice or couple more potatoes, ideally you'd have split that so it's one chicken breast, some rice and some veg filling the plate.
Thus cutting the amount of rice / potato you have.

Obviously you can cut the size of portions ANYWAY ......

I've not stuck religiously to the 1/3 speed with every meal ..... but in the interests of a balanced diet, Ido have some!

Afternoon all. Just checking in.

After my frustration of still being 1/2lb off my 2 stone award, some old habits have crept back in this week...I'm better today, on plan but struggling with the mindset a bit. Did buy a few new t-shirts a size down and discovered the second hand size 12 jeggings I bought now fit. Just need to keep focused!

Well done love!

Hi all.
It's freezing here. I've got a lamb stew in the oven for later. The lamb looked uite lean so I won't be synning it. The only syn in there is a dash of red wine.lots of speed tho!
Breakfast was eggs bacon and mushroom.
Lunch was a yogurt and some mango.

I was a size 22 in October and yesterday I bought a size 16 top! I can't remember the last time I bought size 16 I was born size 16 Grin

Report
Groovester · 12/02/2017 13:48

Lavender, same here! I bought a couple of tops in size 16 that fit and I bought a dress too which fits but I will feel more confident about it after another 1/2 stone I think. I was a 22 too.
I'm having trouble with my bras. They are starting to pinch at the top of the underwire under my arm. Think there is obviously more space for my boobs to move around or something. Not ready to buy new yet though. Annoying!
Thanks for the new thread Lemony.

Hi all!

Am just plodding along in my little groove here, gained a pound this week but still got 1.5 lbs to the top of target range.

Got a busy week coming up though, it's my birthday on Tuesday how the fuckity-fuck am I 40? and then DH's cousin gets married on Friday so there's a couple of days in a hotel. I am not going to be in target range in two weeks, there's no hope of that AT ALL. But I shall get back onto the SW wagon a week today and see where we are in a fortnight.

Mostly my brain is occupied by the fact that I was due on yesterday...

I'm back again. Think I have undone a load of my 2.5st loss from last summer (can't even claim before Xmas as had Nov and Dec off and didn't loose anything August to Oct) ... getting to group is getting hard as work is mental and DD has a class that clashes. Thinking of doing it alone / at home for a bit like. Done a big SW shop.

Today has so far been Asda sausages (1.5), Turkey bacon, fried eggs (2), mushrooms and tomatoes with a small drizzle of tomato ketchup (1).

Ooo em! POAS!

Well done on the size 16ers. Such a good feeling getting I. To. Smaller clothes, especially when you can buy them from ordinary clothes shops. I spent a small fortune in Next when I got to a 16. Now they don't fit, as I'm a 12/14 mainly a 14, but some stuff is 12 and that's a number. I didn't think I'd ever see. This time last year I was a 20/22.
