Hi all Smile

I had a baby in April and have been doing slimming world I've so far lost about 3 stone (I put on 4 stone almost) although I'm not far off my pre baby weight on the scales my belly is big and not in a cute pot belly way but a jiggly out of shape weirdly proportioned way. My legs are chubby I'm generally not bothered about other parts of my body but I'm dreading swimwear and maxi dresses you can see my wobbly bits through.

I'd like any tips for how I can look and feel good for my holiday in Spain next month. I'm hoping to lose another 1/2 stone by then. Any tips for speeding up weight loss wouldn't be fab too I currently am losing about 1lb a week rarely 2lbs.
I aim for 10 Syns a day but sometimes have more 15.

My typical day is:
Porridge with sweet freedom syrup (1 syn) almond milk 200ml (1syn)
Free lunch (homemade soup or jacket potato with salad) usually a snack for 2-3 Syns like a cereal bar. I have an options hot choc (2 Syns) every day to keep cravings away and a free dinner. Usually a mullet light for pudding.

I'd welcome any advice on how to look/ feel better in swimwear etc and also how to speed up my loss in a month!

Thank you Smile x

I walk every day between 15-30 mins but try to power walk and every other day I ride the bike for 30 mins minimum usually interval training style.

I could try to up my exercise but working 9-5 don't get home til half 5 n then I'm sorting baby out etc for his bedtime routine n before I know it I've got no time to rest. X

Have you tried SP days?

I had a major plateau situation which I remedied by eating everything in sight at xmas (do not recommend ahead of hols!!) and then hitting it hard afterwards with changing up my healthy extras. Lots of people seem to say this but I never really listened hard enough to that advice. Some weeks I'll have my B for breakfast every day but others I'll use it for alpen bars for a snack or dessert in the evening. Sometimes I'll do breakfast fritata with cheese but other weeks have cheese based lunches and dinners to mix it up. I'm not sure why this works well for me but it is - perhaps I'm more conscious of what I'm eating if I'm not always in the same routine. To give you an idea, always good loss for me now is about 0.5lb as I'm approaching target but by mixing things up I'm now seeing losses of 1lb a week instead.

I guess you could also up your exercise if it fits with your lifestyle - I've got into habit of getting up 15 mins early to do some cycling on our exercise bike or having a quick extra 15 min session while pasta is cooking for example. This has also boosted my losses but appreciate it depends entirely on how old your kids are and what your routine is like!

Are you drinking buckets and buckets of water? This also really helps me - perhaps it just makes me feel fuller but sitting at my desk all day I can easily drink about three litres without even thinking about it now that I'm in the routine. If I want a snack I sort of promise it to my future self for once I've finished my current glass of water. Often I don't actually want it by that point...

Good luck!!

thank you so much for your replies. What do SP days entail? I don't go to a class so I pretty much just follow the plan in the book.

I'll try and drink more water fit in extra exercise where I can and vary my diet I am eating the same sort of meal for breaky and lunch. I guess it might make your metabolism work harder if you vary what you eat and when you eat it?

Xx

I think you're right, keep the body guessing!

SP days consist of eating only speed and protein and basically cutting out a large chunk of the SW carb staples eg pasta, rice and potatoes. You can in theory have an extra healthy B when you do this but I never do as it doesn't really sit right with me to replace a potato with two cereal bars! Quite often we will have roasted butternut squash or courgette noodles instead of roast potatoes or spaghetti on these days. It does boost loss a bit for me and it's definitely worth a try as part of mixing it up!

By the end of a few days I'm normally gagging for a Jacky P though so tend to do the odd day in a week rather than a full week of it.

That's fab thank you. Do you think 1 day out of the week would suffice?

I try to do 2-3 days in the week. Try it and see how easy it is for you, but I imagine any amount of days is probably at least a small help!

Strawberries and cantaloupe melon, I would have a big bowl everyday for a week or two. And portion control the free food - carbs no bigger than your fist and up the veg. These two things really work for me.
