I've never done slimming world. What happens at meetings, why does it cost £5 per week? Do the meeting help losing weight and how?

The diet how easy it to follow? Do you cook the same food for your family? Any tips? Recommendations for someone needing to lose 3 stone!

At your first meeting, you get a 30 min talk while members are being weighed, then you get to stay for image therapy and listen to the consultant give an update on all things slimming world, then consultant will go round group and speak to each person, they won't say you have gained if you ask them not to. Lots of clapping and group encouragement.

£5 is what it costs, free to do it at home, but most people need the structure of going to group and being accountable.

It definitely works, but you have to plan and make some changes to what you eat. Very easy to follow and lots of support online too.

What's "image therapy"?!
I briefly did SW but I don't remember that!

IMAGE Therapy is the name for the group bit where you all get sore hands from the clapping.

I find SW very easy to follow as long as you have a bit of time to plan meals in advance, there's only DH and I here but he eats what he gets fed and doesn't complain!

Personally I think if your heart isn't in it then paying isn't going to help. I got to the point where enough was enough and I joined. I need the the fact that I am paying and stopping to the meeting keeps me focused.

In general I ate fairly healthily anyway but ate a lot of crap inbetween. There is no reason why the whole family can't eat the same

I have lost 2 stone in just over 7 months. It's taken me longer than others but I haven't stopped going out so some weeks haven't been as good a others so I haven;t felt deprived and I am still 2 stones lighter
