Starting SW Online

Hi all

I'm thinking of starting SW online - would anyone recommend? I don't really like the idea of the groups and would prefer to come on here and talk to others who are following the plan rather than sit in a weekly meeting. But is there any point doing the online membership - £60 seems expensive for not a lot?

I started online last Monday and so far it's going great! I knew I would hate the groups. You get loads of info to print out and I'm a big fan of the food search on the app I've been checking everything as I walk around the supermarket!
Let me know if you do join it would be nice to get a little support group going!

I'm on! Signed up yesterday and printed out the sheets, trying to get my head around the healthy extras.

I think I need to meal plan a few days to make sure I have the right food to hand and don't end up reaching for the nearest packet of crisps! Definitely like the idea of supporting each other on here. Smile

I think meal planning is the way to go! Also finding that having some sort of fruit in my bag at all times is saving me from eating all of the snacks! I bought some slimming tea that's meant to suppress appetite so I'm going to give that a go tomorrow and see if it helps at like 11 o'clock when all I want is some sort of pastry based treat!

I'm hoping to lose 1.5 stones before October so fingers crossed!!! It would be lovely to have some online support Blush

Hi - I've been doing SW online since Jan and I'm 1lb from target (lost 2 stone 1lb so far so doing it slowly). For additional support there are facebook groups and the Slimming World support group on here is brilliant too.

I feel like we do miss out on lots that others get at groups and we pay about the same but I can't get to groups and obviously some people don't like the idea of them so it does work!

Hello! I am thinking of signing up online too as I can't atend any groups. It seems a lot for £60. Is it worth it? Especially for only 3 months!

Also, I have all the books and recipe books and everything so I will only be sogning up to get the calculator really. X

Hi, I signed up yesterday for on-line as I don't want to go to classes. It would be great to have a group of us on-liners on here :)

Just tried that code and it knocks off their own online discount but still makes it £15 cheaper than it would be! 😊

Wow, wing defence, that is amazing weight loss! Good to hear that people have lost on online only.

I have just made a big vat of soup which will cover lunches so I'm feeling virtuous!

wing teach me your ways!! I had my first weigh in today and I've lost 7lbs in the first week! I can't quite believe it!

I made the crustless quiche for lunch this week and it's delicious! I packed it full of extra veggies!
I think we could turn this into a lovely support group for the online crew!!

I've started writing down a food diary in a notebook - very old school! Also seems a bit Hmm given I'm paying for online membership but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to record it via an app. (Again, really not sure what I'm paying for - other than commuting to myself that I will follow through).

Well done Shark! Grin After a bit of umming and aahing yesterday I've actually reduced my target by a few pounds as I don't feel like I've quite lost enough at the moment. Only another 4-5 lbs, nothing drastic and it would drop me into the next stone bracket which mentally would make me very happy!

I posted about it on the main MN SW support group as it's all to do with timing - when you hit target as an online member you have to keep paying if you want to keep it all up as there isn't any one to check your weight etc. Whereas at group you go free once you hit target. But you can swap your online membership to group when you reach target and then only have to weigh in at least once every 8 weeks which I should be able to do. So I was considering whether to call target in a pound to then be free but if I wanted to drop my target after that I'd have to make weekly meetings; I can't which is why I went online in the first place.

Anyway sorry to ramble on, just something to think about yourselves when you get near to target - and you will I'm sure!!!

Cros-post October. I track my food on the weight loss planner online. All you have to do is save it as a bookmark on your phone home screen (I've an iphone, but I'm sure you can do that on an android phone too?) and it goes in automatically so isn't that difficult.

But yes, the app is a bit rubbish. Searching for anything is awful. Again I prefer to do it on the online mobile version instead which is slightly better.

Hi everyone, I signed up to Slimming World online this week. I would like to lose one and a half to two stones. I've been looking through the SW site on my phone (my only access at the moment) and I have to admit I'm confused. I did Weight Watchers several years ago, when it was still Points not ProPoints, and I knew that I had 19 points available to eat each day. I could meal plan with that target in aim and I knew what I was doing but I can't see what I'm supposed to be aiming for with SW. How do I work out what my diet plan is?

I've just joined online thanks to Eternal and the code. I've been to groups before but never just done it alone. I couldn't face going to group again. I'd like to lose 2st by the time my 12 weeks is up

I'm thinking of joinine online too. I used to attend a group and I did love it, but it was a Monday and I just reached saturation point with it. Is there a separate support thread for the onliners? Or are you guys just inking up here? Thanks Smile

Hi, I joined online and lost 1lb on my first weigh in on Saturday. I was disappointed, but then I'm in my fifties and weight loss is slow to impossible, so a loss is still a loss. I'd love to know if I eat too much free food though!

Sorry for being MIA it's been a mad few weeks! It would be great to all link up here and have some support! I've lost 11.5lbs in 3 weeks and I am desperate to have that one stone award!

cloudylemons I'm also worried about how much free food I'm eating. Mainly pasta and potatoes!!

Exactly Sharkteeth I'm having potato usually twice a day, plus all the fruit! I'm trying to drink more water, plus going to give it another week to see what the scales say! Have a good day!

I've been an online member since April 2015 and I've lost 4 st 2 lbs so far. I'm half a stone away from my initial target set when I started, but I'll still have quite a bit to lose once I hit that. I've had lots of ups and downs during the last 17 months, but it's totally worth it. I'm down 3 dress sizes, so much fitter, and just generally feel great.

My advice to you all is to meal plan, meal plan, meal plan. I find that I put on weight in the weeks where we don't meal plan. If you do end up putting on, or have a bad day, just write that day off and get back into it. I find it useful to go back to keeping a food diary after I've put on because it's usually that I'm miscounting syns in my head.

Hello! I just joined SW Online and I'd love to chat with you all here, if possible.mwe could do an online weigh-in every week. :)

I'm 12st 7 this morning, which is way too much for my frame, and I'd LOVE to be 9st 7 again by (ideally) Christmas, or much more realistically, by my birthday next April.
