Slimming world - wholemeal bread

Random question, as slimming world works for me, and have lost four stone, but I have always wondered why are you allowed wholemeal bread as part of your healthy extra, but not white bread? From what I can see wholemeal has more carbs and a higher sugar count on carbs than white.

Can anybody enlighten me?!

I think it's to do with fibre intake. Healthy extra B is for fibre to make sure you don't get constipated or the opposite Blush

Yes, the "b" choices are for fibre.

I love wholemeal bread, so all good for me... Although I cannot deny that a bacon sarnie is always better in that cheap smooshy white bread! Yum! (Misses the point totally Blush)

Onetime, agree re soft white bread for a bacon butty.
Could have some and count as syns if it's what you'll enjoy.

Is there a big difference between whole meal and whole grain I terms of fibre. As a family we eat whole grain and I don't want to start buying bread just for me.

Babyblabber, the Hovis wholemeal nimble granary also counts as a B choice.
