Hi, I've posted a couple of times on the diet chat on mums net, but this time I'm back and my head is in the right place.

I'm going to join Slimming World this current week. My group is on a Wednesday, but I'm going to start today. Is anyone else new to Slimming World?

Current weight is 180lb so planning to drop around 50lb grin

I'm planning on returning to the fold. Started SW in January for a while online and lost a stone but have fallen off the wagon. Just not sure whether this time round to go to group or join online again. I would like to lose 3 and a half stone.

crunchymummy Sat 06-Aug-16 13:41:24

I found group really motivating so def going with group. As simple as it sounds, getting those half stone, stone, stone and a half, two stone ect stickers is very motivating for me... and some good ideas come up in group sometimes.

I have a Saturday group, rejoined yesterday. Feeling motivated it is a lovely group, so much support. And I grabbed the magazine on impulse, really glad I did as it is the kind of food DH likes. I realise having him on side is key.

Hey Thebeach! Congrats for rejoining, I'm excited to rejoin Wednesday!
I've set some ground rules for myself this time, things that I felt let me down last time. First of all, I know it's obvious, but no takeaways haha.... also, not going to keep chocolate syns stashed at home. If I want to use my syns on chocolate I have to take DS and walk to the shops (15/20 mins walk)

I have booked a longed for breast reduction op for 30th September and need to get that stone off by then. So Im with you ladies. Ill join a new group on Tuesday night as I need the motivation too but will look in here. Lets post food diaries daily. It does work.

See you in the morning !!

Muffintopmum Mon 08-Aug-16 22:34:13

Hello all,

Well took the plunge and joined a local group tonight. Consultant and others were very welcoming. Have come home with a pack containing the food optimising book and body magic. Will be my bed time reading tonight as I need to refresh my memory.

Food wise today I missed breakfast - not something I usually do but had a long lie in. Lunch was smoked salmon, granary bread and salad then fruit. Dinner was SW chilli con carne, rice, salad then strawberries and LF yoghurt.

Good luck everyone and have a great week.

I've joined today eek!! Had my first group this evening and stepped on the dreaded scales confused haven't ever been before but I'm looking forward to giving it my all and (hopefully) losing lbs.

skiingnomore Tue 09-Aug-16 06:26:37

Brilliant. Well done. Ill get to group tonight. Remember the more you drink the more you shrink. Keep downing water or sugar free squash. I carry the little squashed bottles with me so i can add it to bottled water when i am out.

Im quite excited now grin. Im cross ive regained a stone but its a journey of course and i have to think that ive lost 3 and kept that off. By christmas I will be where i want to be .

Keep going today ladies. Going backwards is not an option.

Now off for breakfast . Fruit yoghurtand 40g of bran crunchies ( hex b ).

Have a good day.

Hi everyone, I've rejoined 6/7 weeks ago and have lost 1st 10 so far! Would love go join this chat as I think it would motivate me too. What I'm changing from last time is to keep going to class, even when my losses slow, to stick to the plan and not cheat myself (was always 'hoping for the best!' when getting on the scales, and failing. I haven't had that this time as I'm 100% on plan...
B lidl yogurt and some fruit, L is homage carrot soup, and D is Tuna steaks with veg and fried tinned potatoes... Have a lovely day everyone smile

crunchymummy Tue 09-Aug-16 13:20:45

Hey ladies, I had a terrible day yesterday... DP's sister spontaneously invited us around and got us all take out. Oh well, I suppose if I was long term on plan this would be a "flexi syns" day...

On plan today and just about to do a big week shop... will keep you posted as to how today goes

How is everyone today?

skiingnomore Tue 09-Aug-16 18:51:16

11 hour day in London and that's hard for staying on plan I always find. just about to go to group.

so far Ive eaten

B fruit salad yoghurt and hex b 35g of grapenuts

L m and s salad with dressing ( 3 syns ) turkey and melon orange and banana

naked bar ( 8 syns ) at the train station. I was absolutely starving and 3 small biscuits with coffee say 5 syns. so just over.

D probably just some fruit.

So again not brilliant and no where near enough water as I find that too hard when im working and out and about. I need to wee too often.

Tomorrow im back in the office so that will be easier.

crunchymummy Tue 09-Aug-16 19:37:10

skiingnomore - Well done! It's super hard to stay on plan when away from home, you've done amazing!

B - Nothing, I know!! Bad!!
D - Wholemeal roll (B) with mozzarella (A) and ham
L - Slimming World chicken curry with mixed pickle (about 8 syns for the amount I'll use)

Snacks - Kiwi and strawberries that I "shared" with 6 month DS

Only upwards from here, excited about joining a new group tomorrow!

hay135 Tue 09-Aug-16 20:32:14

Skiingnomore I struggle when out for the day so just over isn't too bad at all. Will fruit be enough for dinner. It wouldn't for me and there is loads of free food you could have that wouldn't increase the syns for the day but I get everyone is different.

Crunchymummy what curry recipe do you use I love curry but my SW curries don't seem to work out well

Today B 1 wetabix 1/2HEB and raspberries with milk 1/2HEA.
L prawn salad with lighter than light mayo (1/2 syn)
D Cajun turkey mince 2 syns as not 5% mince and rice, peppers and onions

Snacks muller light 1/2 syn 2x hifi bars one 1/2HEB one 3 syns, Apple, banana, grapes. Lucozade zero pink lemonade ( I love this at the moment ).

Milk in coffee 1/2 HEA (maybe a bit over but have enough syns left if I used too much)

Total syns around 6 1/2

Day 2 on plan grin feeling good

skiingnomore Tue 09-Aug-16 21:53:25

so i joined a new group and it was taster night so I had a few nibbles there some of which were syned so not as good after all but hey ho.

So I have gained 13.5llbs from my last weigh in on 10th feb. all in all could be worse. Set my target at 10 stone which is just about right for my height of 5ft 4.5 inches and my age which is not young and frankly I know I can maintain. Any lower and i will just fall off the wagon again I know.

So home now and planning food for tomorrow.

Good luck everyone !

LunaLambBhuna Wed 10-Aug-16 12:41:14

Hello all.

I've joined again. This time as an online member because I can't get to local groups.

I'm 5'2" and nearly tipping 12 stone. I'm disgusted with myself!

So far, so good. I feel like I'm eating all day and having more food than I normally would.

I just need to stick with it this time and not give up after a couple of weeks. It's strange how you can so desperately want to lose weight but can never stump up the willpower to follow it though!

Good luck to you all!

skiingnomore Wed 10-Aug-16 18:02:45

welcome !!

Its a way of life not a diet. Just think of it that way.

Good day today here so far.

L massive plate of salad and ham

D Small jacket potato whole tin of Heinz Veg chilli beanz and 50g of protein cheese

Muffintopmum Wed 10-Aug-16 22:12:00

Well done to everyone staying on plan.

I've had an awful day today food wise sadwent to the beach and took a picnic. Had far too many Syns - couldn't even begin to work it out. Need to get back on track tomorrow and also get some exercise in as Sunday also has the potential to go to pot! Don't want to wish the summer holidays away but sticking to plan will be easier for me come September!

skiingnomore Thu 11-Aug-16 10:55:34

Definately its easier when everyone is in a routine. So far so good today. I was at the gym at 6.30am for a pt session. Meals all olanned but im starving of course grin

Mbear01 Thu 11-Aug-16 11:02:09
