Sw scales showing less of a loss?

Has anyone else had this? I weighed myself the day I started sw and since then, first thing in the morning I weigh myself at home. I have lost 9lb on my scales but on sw ones I have only lost 4.5lb (maybe more when I get weighed later) has anyone else had this? its disheartening to lose 3 pounds on your scales at home to then go to group and find you lost 1lb (officially)

Have you weighed yourself on your home scales AFTER the sw meeting?
It's possible that both are correct as weight can fluctuate by a couple of pounds (for me) during the day (with food and liquid on board).

No, I might try that tonight. I always weigh myself at home first thing in the morning so I can't see how they can be wrong. I feel like I have lost nearer 9lb too as my work uniform feels looser

MrsMulder, I don't possess any scales at home, and just get weighed weekly at SW , as there's no need to weigh more frequently.

I know I shouldn't weigh myself in between. Was 3lb off in class just now though so happy with that. 7.5lb off in total officially and got my half stone award Smile

I weigh myself at home straight after being weighed at SW so I know the difference and take that into account if I weigh myself later in the week. I've found there is a couple of pounds difference, all scales are different which is why you should only record your weight from the exact same set of scales each week. I'm lucky that my meeting is at 9.45am so I have plenty time to pee and can wait eat afterwards. As long as I do the same thing each week I should be consistent.

When do you weigh at SW? If you're weighing at home first thing in the morning you probably haven't eaten or drink anything. If you weigh at SW later in the day you will have the weight of whatever you have eaten and drunk during the day. Also, when you weigh at home what do you wear? Are your morning weigh in clothes the same weight as the clothes you wear to SW?

I wear the same clothes each week though they are almost 2 sizes to big now! I'm weighed at 9.45am so I don't eat or drink beforehand, you can take a bottle of water and banana/boiled egg to eat straight after being weighed. Also go to the loo as much as possible, as long as you do the same thing each week before being weighed it shouldn't make a difference.

Why do you weigh yourself at home at all? It just adds to the confusion!

If you go to the same class each week at the same time, then that should be an accurate teflection of your weight?

There is a difference in weight loss rather than actual weight so the time of day shouldn't make any difference if that makes any sense as I am comparing weight first thing in the morning - weight first thing in the morning against weight at 5pm-5pm 4 weeks later

I know I shouldn't weigh myself at home but I have scales and can't resist. I like to see how I am getting on mid week. It motivates me to stay on track especially over the weekend

I have hidden my scales at home and just weigh at SW on a Saturday morning, I was getting obsessed and stressed, weight varies so much at different times of month etc.

You should ask the consultsnt if the scales are calibrated. They get moved from place to place and if the don't get calibrated they won't be true. My scales at home are always spot on with sw. However, my friends club always appears to out. Its worth asking. I went to hospital recently and they weighed me and I was less on there scales and they told me they get calibrated on a regular basis

I don't understand people who try to suggest that a 20 quid pair of scales are going to measure as accurately as the professional grade ones that SW consultants use.

You always weigh less in the morning. If I weigh myself in the morning I add a couple of lbs to figure out what I'll be at weigh in later.

Throw your scales in the bin. It's not healthy to be weighing yourself all the time. Once a week at SW is enough. You'll just obsess about the difference.

Hi,

I joined slimming world a few months ago and can see I have lost weight. At class I was told 3 lbs on. Today at home used very accurate, digital scales and weighed 10.7lbs but an hour later at class was 10st 11lb. I am wondering if the scales at classes are set accurately or if they are set to make you heavier to keep you going back for longer.

I'm always 2lb heavier at SW. I presume it's because I'm wearing clothes and it's the evening time.

But I wouldn't sweat about a pound or two in the difference. In the long run you'll lose weight if you keep at it. I lost nearly two Stone in SW, so a pound or two difference doesn't bother me! And when I'm mid-cycle I could be 4lb up... That got a bit of getting used to! But it's all swings and roundabouts... If your eight is generally going down then that's good enough!

I'm a target member and recently weighed in at 1.5lb less than I was allowed. I drank 750mls of juice and ate a banana and weighed again 20 minutes later... I gained 2lbs. So weightdoes fluctuate a lot.

I went through the menopause several years ago. It just looks as if I haven't been trying to lose weight.
