I'm re joining SW tonight for about the 5th time. I've never really been that successful with the plan in the past and have only lost about 10lbs each time. It's not the plans fault, I love it, it's my issues with binge eating and lack of willpower. Anyway, this time I'm heavier than ever and need to loose about 3-4 stone. I'll re post tonight with more details but thought I'd start this thread for a bit of accountability for myself and hopefully some support. Please feel free to join in.

You sound determined this time, Tweetypie; well done on re-joining and starting again.
Hope you will stay to group every week, so that you can benefit from consultant and class support.
Re "binge- eating"- make sure you've always got something syn-free to binge on, as there's no need to go hungry.
Good luck, and don't look back, because you're not going that way.

Thankyou Pippin. I don't feel very determined at the moment but I hope I will after tonight. I've never really stayed to group before and I think that has been my biggest down fall. However this time is different, I have just passed my driving test so I don't have to rely on anyone else to get to classes. In the past I have gone with friends or walked and had to take my children with me, all of which have made it difficult to commit to attending and staying each week but now I can drive I've got no excuse.

Good luck. Not everybody likes stopping to meetings but I feel it helps as although it is just going round saying so and so lost, so and so put on the other members are there to support. I reckons if I didn't stop there would be less of an incentive to try as no one would know whether I lost or gained. Does that make sense?

Lots of healthy snacks for binging.

Hopefully your first group meeting will inspire you, Tweetypie.
You say that you haven't stayed to group during previous attempts at losing weight; perhaps that's the thing that has to change this time to be successful once and for all.
I go on my own, but have always found other members to be friendly , welcoming and non-judgemental- you are all there for the same reason, after all.

Our group leader is brilliant and she talked about joining "for the last time" which did it for her. I stay to group but sometimes have my kids so whisk them away if they start to make any noise. From this week I'm going to go on my own so I can fully focus on the group and pick up tips and give myself some real me time. Do this for you, always better to rejoin on your own and then you don't rely on them or stop going if they stop. Do this for you for the last time. You can do it

Thanks for your responses. It's really encouraging. I like the idea of joining for the last time and I think you're all right healthy snacks for binging on in the fridge and staying to the meetings.

How did it go last night, Tweetypie?
Are you raring to go?

Well I did it. I re joined. I weighed in at 12st 10lbs. I set an interim target of 11st to loose my baby weight from 2nd DS and a final target weight of 10st to get back to my pre baby weight of 1st DS. I haven't had time yet to sit down and read through all the books and to sign up on line again but I'm hoping to spend some time on that this afternoon. Hopefully that will get my head in gear. I'm hoping for a really good first week.

Have a good 100% first week, Tweetypie, to remind yourself how well the plan works.
This is a fresh start for you.

Evening all, I started 10th June, I'm 2.5lb off my first stone, still another 3 to go!

I've always done well with SW losing 2st each time I've done it, pregnancies have seen my weight yo yo. I never really had a target as I've always been a 14 at my lowest, so I always just said I would like to lose whatever amount I needed to be happy with how I looked. This time I've set 12st as my target and I think just having a set weight to aim for is really helping.

So I'm going to get to target with you!

Well done hola, day 3 of my first week today and I think I'm doing ok. I've done SW 3 or 4 times before so doing it from home. I'm on a face book group with a few friends and we post ideas and pics of our food and give each other support. I'm glad I'm managing to cook with a toddler and newborn! Smile

Hello Becks, Hola and itfc, I'm glad I'm not alone. This time we will all meet our target. How are you all getting on? It's my first weigh in tomorrow. It hasn't been the best first week for me but I'm going to stay at the meeting regardless of how much I have lost and I've already planned my meals for next week. I'll be picking up the shopping on my way back from class.

tweetypie I joined about 6 weeks ago with very similar start weight and goals. I'm down 12lbs now. Slowed down a bit the last couple of weeks but still going down even if only 1lb/week.

I signed up to 12 weeks, and am using the 12 week journal to plan meals and decided "in for a penny, in for a pound"...so if I'm going to do it, I'm committed to group for the 12 weeks. I do think that it keeps me going and gives my motivation a boost each week. Also picked up some tips and ideas for low syn treats week by week.

Good luck!

Well done Asper. That's really good, not far to go for your first stone award. I'd love to loose 12lbs in 6 weeks.

So, it was my first weigh in last night and I lost 3.5lbs. I'm really pleased as I didn't stick to plan 100% and thought I hadn't lost anything. I feel really motivated to go again this week and stick to plan 100%.

I had crustless quiche and salad. SW sausages, leek and broccoli in the quiche. Whole family ate it including 5 and 2 year old DSes.

Just had a big bowl of strawberries doused in quark sweetened with a tablespoon of choc shot sauce. Lovely.

Well done Tweetypie ! I joined 4 weeks ago and have 5st to lose. I've lost 13lbs in those 4 weeks so would love to get my first stone award next week.

'Joining for the last time' really resonates with me. Haven't actually done SW before but loads of other diet attempts which have left me fatter than ever. But I am now done having children and want to set a better example for them.

Finding the plan good so far except I struggle to always be organised with lunch to take to work the next day. Oh, and I don't really like fruit, so syn free snacks are a bit of a problem.

Good luck everyone, we can do this!
