Question about Syns

I joined SW online this morning. I've never done it before and don't know anyone who has. I e read through the 'rules' and I think I get them but when it come to the Syns it just says you can have between 5 and 15. I'm a bit confused by this. Does it mean you should have a minimum of 5? When they say 'you choose' does it mean if you choose to have 15 Syns that your weight loss will be slower?

Sorry if these are silly questions, I'm a complete newbie!

You really should eat your syns. I think the amount you should have depends on weight and how much you want to lose.

Maybe aim for 10 a day and see how your weight loss goes?

I joined the classes this week. We were advised to eat our syns in order to make it manageable and a long term solution. She said you can save them up for one day of the week if you have something special planned, but not roll them over to the following week. So to aim for 105 a week.

Thanks that's really useful. Didn't realise you could store them up! I think I'll do that so that I can have a more relaxed day one day a week. Good luck!

Syns are an essential part of the plan, so use them.

I usually have my full 15 a day, both healthy extras and plenty of free and speed foods. I have good losses.

In fact, I have better losses when I've used all my syns every day but I am a very active person, so I guess I need them for energy. Last week I went over 15 on a few days (only by 2 or 3) and lost 5 pounds in one week!! By best loss since I started 3 months ago..

There was a lady at my group who used no syns whatsoever all week for her first few weeks and she didn't lose anything. She started using her syns and started losing every week.

Maybe try around 10 syns a day for the first week..

I find syns keep me on plan, instead of making me binge and give up.
