A brand new thread for 2016.....:)

For old and new members alike....please join in and post food plans, meal ideas, how you use syns, weight losses and gains, how you feel.

I started exactly a year ago on 4 January 2015.
I weighed 14st 3lbs and was a size 16. Bloated and uncomfortable, I was mortified when I saw the scales.
In week 1, I lost 9lbs which has motivated me ever since.
I currently weigh 11st 3.5lbs and just missed my 3 stone certificate at Xmas. Put on 2lbs last week and not really expecting a loss this week but I want to get to 11 stone and then re set my target to 10 stone 7lbs.

I have gone down to a comfortable size 12 and even wore a size 10 Fat Face dress yesterday.

So, let's do this.

I feel quite excited. SW has definitely changed my life......:)

Thanks for the thread Calzone and congrats on the weight loss.

I started SW in September weighing 15st 2lb and squeezing myself into size 18s. Now I weigh 13st 1lb (got my shiny 2 stone sticker last week) and can comfortably fit into a size 16. I need to reset my goal weight this week and I think I am going to go for 11st as an interim target and decide on a final goal once I get there. I'd love to get down to a size 12 eventually but since I haven't worn a 14 since before university I'll be very excited when I can finally get into size 14 jeans!

I really need to add some activity in this year so my goal is to complete the couch to 5k before the end of March - I am meant to be doing a run with some friends then.

Welcome to 2016!

I started SW 12/2/2015 after being tagged in some photos on Facebook at my 30th birthday and not recognising myself in them or liking what I saw.

The first night at class I was so nervous walking in, my husband waited in the car outside for me so we could go to the pub from there and talk tactics to plan the week ahead. I hung back more and more getting nervous, they had nearly packed the stuff away when I asked if he could come in for when I had to weigh, I was shaking! At over 20 stone and really shocked and upset.

The first week I lost 6lb and felt great! I now eat more meals than I ever did, discovering foods that I wouldn't have even tried before, I have got in to the habit of breakfast, cooking from scratch and love trying out a new recipe!

I stay to class every week I can and now do the scales weighing other members.

So far I have lost 45lbs going from very tight size 22/24 to a comfortable 18. I was nominated for Woman of the Year.

When I set my target I didn't really believe I could ever loose the weight so I don't have a final target yet but my next target, by the time I go on holiday in June, is to loose another 25lbs and I think that should be a size 14 for me.

It's been a massive change in my whole lifestyle, habits, confidence and I love it!

The support I get here is great and I love Instagram for inspiration and recipe ideas so try and post mine on there too.

My January aims are;
To loose 7lb
Dry January
6 bottles of water a day
4 exercise classes

Good luck everyone!

Wow that's so inspiring calzone. I'm currently a size 16 and weighing in at 13st 11. I'm only 5 ft 4 so ideal weight is about 10st. Just ordered myself a Fitbit and if I could be 10st 11 by next January I'd be over the moon! Congrats on all the weight losses so far!

This is my third (and final) time doing SW. I did it once about eight years ago, when it was still red/green days. I can't remember what I lost/weighed then.

I then hit my "highest ever" weight of 18 st 10 lbs in January 2010. I joined SW in August, weighing 16 st 13 1/2 lbs and got down to 13 st 10 lbs by the time I got married in September 2012 (so a 5 stone overall loss).

Comfortably maintained at around 14 1/2 st for a couple of years, then it crept on and on and on and I finally bit the bullet on June 25 this year. First weigh in was 16 st 5 lbs. Had got down to 14 st 9 by Christmas, getting my Club 10.

Then CHRISTMAS happened and I gained 6.5 lbs in eight days Grin

Back on plan 100% this week.

I use my syns for (amongst other things):

Tassimo cappuccino (2.5 syns daily)
Proper, made-from-the-meat-juices, gravy on a roast (7 ish)
Hula hoops (6 syns)

Healthy extras are either babybels (because if I have proper cheese in the house I eat it) or milk if I am having a tea day, and hifi bars (for a late night chocolately fix).

I also tend to only have two meals a day - brunch and tea/dinner. I generally have a full brunch (bacon, eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms), a fruit/yoghurt snack mid afternoon and then a proper dinner with DH in the evening.

I can't do much exercise due to disability (I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, ME and fibromyalgia) but have started walking a bit further recently and am looking at getting an exercise bike so I can do a little bit every so often.

Hi, can I join?

I think I weigh about 15st. Intend on joining in Wednesday (best class I can get too) but have started already. Initial aim is to lose 2st by June and go from there.

Will check in on Wed with my actual weight.

I'm in! I lost nearly 2 1/2 stone last year but lost my way towards the end - my goal was a party in September rather than my target but this year I'm going to get there. I've stocked up the fridge, eaten the last of the Christmas food Blush and feel the size of a house.
My aim is to do some Body Magic this year. I tried last year but was still very overweight and struggled. I think I might do better this year.
Good luck everyone, we can do it!

Calzone, I've done the couch to 5k before. It's a nice structured way to build up to running 5k and I like having a plan to follow. I haven't really done any running in over a year as I injured my knee and it took ages to heal so I need to build up slowly again. This time I am going to loosely follow the couch to 5k plan (you can the plan online or use an app) but I am using an app called Zombies Run! (5k plan) that my DB recommended. It's a bit cheesy but fun too - you are essentially running away from zombies. I find the story distracting and its a bit of a change. It uses your own music in between the instructions/story bits which is good.

Hi, newbie here, well to this page but have been doing SW since July. I got my 1.5st award in October but then haven't lost anything since, in fact I've put on a few lbs. I had an operation on my foot in November and been on crutches so not able to exercise and was off work for 6 weeks so not much to do except sitting on my arse eating, and then of course Christmas where I put on 4.5lbs in a week.

I've been really struggling to get back on track. I had a couple of good days but then had two days of eating everything in sight. Then I got my period today (1st in 6 yrs after coming off the depo jab recently - sorry tmi), I'm going to have to learn to control those cravings again.

I'm back to work tomorrow so I'm hoping being back into a routine will help me get back on track. I'm also able to do a little low impact exercise now, hula hoop and exercise bike which should help too.

I've set myself a mini goal of getting to a healthy bmi which is 12.5lbs which I'm hoping to do in 7 weeks.

I'm going to my first meeting tomorrow. I've always done WW in the past but Slimming World is really big in the town I've moved to, with more choice of meeting times.

Decided to sort myself out having weighed myself as just over 13 stone and bulging out of my size 16 jeans. Not really comfortable and my thighs rub together all the time now. I'm slightly terrified about going to the meeting for the first time!

Can I join too please - I lost almost 5 stone 6 years ago & kept it off for 2 years, however when I had my 3rd baby, I struggled to get back to my target weight. I've been playing with it the last couple of years & am currently 2 stone above target (so 3 stone lost in total) but I'm 40 in a couple of months & would really like to get as close to target as possible.

Looking forward to all your tips & advice (& hopefully sharing your successes).

Wednesday is my weigh in evening - fingers crossed as dreading the damage done over Christmas (but back on plan as of yesterday & getting back to exercising too & cutting back on alcohol!).

Joining with you Grin I stopped going in September as it all got to much after two years, two stone lost then put it all back on after giving birth.

I have completely pigged out but only put on about a extra 10lbs.

Baby is 16 months and stressful period in life is over. Back on the wagon!

Hi again everyone

I started SW in June with a weight of 13 stone at only 5 foot 2. I was a size 16 and verging on 18. (I had around 2 and a half months off as I moved home to my mums to help look after my terminally ill dad who sadly passed away in September.)

I got my 3 stone award last week and now fit into size 10 in some shops and 12 in others.

I have a target of losing another stone to bring me comfortably into my healthy BMI range.

I have found SW to be a great way of bringing some control back into my life and a positive thing amongst the events of a tough six months. I have more energy and feel much better physically.

I fell off the wagon spectacularly this weekend with 2 big nights out but am back on it 100% today.

Hi. I started SW in July as I felt stuck in a rut and needed to make some lifestyle changes. I was 13 stone 5 and just before Christmas reached target after losing 3.5 stone. I have dropped 3 dress sizes and won our group Miss Slinky award Smile
I'm struggling a bit to get back on plan after the last couple of weeks so need this thread (and Calzone's big stick) to keep me motivated.

HI can I join? Currently weight about 13stone 9. Going to sign up to SW class Thursday but going to start myself today. Want to get to 11 initially and then take it from there. Have really let myself go since having DS in July.

Just found the new thread, thanks

I've got a hard day ahead, off to the hospital for some mri scans then hooked up to a drip for a few hours for my monthly medicine infusion. First time I've had the infusion but feeling really emotional about it all but determined to stick to my salad and packed snacks at lunch rather than a costa panini

Plan is
B - egg on toast
S - pineapple
L- chicken salad & muller
S - hi fi & coffee
D - veg stir fry

If I'm up to it I'm going to a class tonight, if not will be tomorrow

I joined in May 2013- at 15 9 and a size 18- reached my target of 11 7 in Feb 2015- a size 12 (although I bought a size 10 jumper this week)

I have not weighed in since Dec 18th and am not looking forward to it on Friday: I have remained within target since Feb. In previous years I have stayed the same and gained 3lbs at Christmas. I fear that I have not done as well this year!

Hello to all the newbies!

I started in June 2015 at 12.12 at a size 16. I was down to 10.8 pre Christmas and into a size 12 however had a 5lb gain over the Christmas period. My size 12's still fit but a lot less comfortable.

My original target was 10.8 however once i got there I realised I needed more so my target is now reset to 9.8

My first weigh in since being back on plan is tomorrow.

I also started the couch to 5k on Sunday and this morning have just completed my 2nd run. The first was horrendous the 2nd not so much.

I only have 5 months to do it for my wedding day so these last 5 months really count for me.
