Good luck and remember this is the heaviest you will be. You will only be getting thinner from now on. Smile

I started today. Realistically I need to lose 1.5/2.0 stone, but every pound is a pound. I am great at motivating others, but rubbish with myself and tend to give up easily if I go off track. I feel determined so I hope I keep myself disciplined. Good luck everyone.

Official weigh in put me at 12st 5.5lb, need to loose 2st 1.5lb
I have a 12 week Dr referral membership so I'm aiming to loose as much as possible in those 12 weeks and absorb enough knowledge to keep going beyond that by myself. The group seemed really nice and supporting though so that's good

I often think if I had never stopped what weight I would be now. I have tried everything from cabbage soup, Atkins, lipotrim, slimfast, 5:2. Weigh watchers and idiot proof, god I'd be rich if had of kept all the money I've wastedBlush Anyway this is my last chance saloon..if this doesn't work this time I'm going to give up being fat and fabulous!!

Right, I'm going to join you if that's ok?
I signed up to online membership a couple of months ago and don't post my weight if it goes up!!
Who am I kidding??
My husband does all the cooking and likes to use fat and oil etc but I can eat very clean -
I will be counting the fat but filling up on veg and fruit.
I have porridge every morning anyway, always have, so that will so for HEA and B
I know what I need to eat to lose the weight - I'm 52 and have been watching what I eat since I was 16 (and incidentally a size 10!!)
Now I am 11 stone 10 pounds and 5'2"
I need to lose at least 2 stone and I don't care how long it takes.
I've lost with SW before after DS1 who is now 21!!!
I got down to 9 1/2 stone and felt amazing.
Now I'm older and pre-menopausal and I just eat too much.
Today is the first day - onwards and upwards!

Well I'm up 13.4 so my aim is to get to 12,first and then 10 so 3 stone to lose. Very determined but husband has just told me we have babysitter for sat and wants to go eating and drinking..I'll just have to make good choices.. Iaamug best of luck. Plum100 keep in touch. One tip I got is use almond milk instead of slimline. Lower calories and better for you!

Maggie, I have been looking at almond milk, but am prone to cold sores, I have been told that almond milk can cause outbreaks and am quite scared in case. Have you heard anything about this?

I started back tonight, this is my third time starting. For my wedding, after DS (4) and now DD (1). I feel positive I'm the lightest I've ever been when I'm starting but STILL need to lose a stone and a half at least but ideally 2.5 stone. I'm 5.3", weight tonight was 11.11lbs. Feeling positive, in bed reading the magazine.

Didn't hear anything about that. Maybe leave the almond milk so! Very positive as well. I downloaded all the sw receipes so will get to supermarket tomorrow.

Does anyone know if there is somewhere on the website that you can work out the syn value of something that isn't listed? I'm sure my consultant said such I thing existed but I can't find it.

My first day went well, I wasn't hungry but it was a bit of a learning curve.
I also managed my first 5k run with my beginners group last night which felt really good, especially as I haven't run in the last 2 weeks with being away on holiday

Blondeshavemorefun - I may give it a go. Is there much more allowed daily rather than skimmed milk? Or soy?

Hypo - if you are in the Weight Loss Planner (food diary), you need to click on Back to Slimming World in the top right hand corner and then click on Read More under Syns and Weight Loss tools at the bottom of the right hand pane and then Syn Calculator (or at the top of the page click on My Weight Loss Tools, Syns Tools and Syn Calculator). They don't make it easy and I think it is a complete PITA that you have to go out the planner, find the syns in the old tools and then go back to the planner and add them manually. SW's app is years behind WW's one. I reckon one of the employee's teenage son knocked it up in his bedroom.

maggieryan · 31/07/2015 14:57

I just Google everything and syn value comes up. Up in McDonald's at a kids party. Popped a few chips in mouth without even realising. Have a stew made for later. Its really about the planning isn't it?

Another one that would like to join please! I have also rejoined after thinking that I would manage on my own and I'm now back with my tail between my legs having gained the weight I lost and more :(

Some virtual ass kicking to keep me on track would be very much appreciated!

I'm joining u! Im a target member from 2013 and have put it all back on and more. I'm too ashamed to join again. And I don't want to pay. I've started food optimising this week and I feel so much better about myself. The latest magazine is good with some easy/cheap recipes. Keeping the fridge stocked with leftovers is a must. Left over plain pasta, cooked meats, pickles. Good luck everyone

Thanks Galison, found the very well hidden syn calculator. Much appreciated.

Feeling good after day 3, quite surprised how much I can eat and loose weight but a sneeky step onto the scales tells me I'm on the right track which is good.

Can you get the magazine at any magazine shop? I've not seen it before, but then I've never looked!

Report
ExitStageLeft · 02/08/2015 19:35

Hypo, they sell the magazines at group for less than in the shops, my group also sells back copies for 50p

Hi, can I join too. Tomorrow will be my second weigh in. I have at least 3 stones to lose and it's my 3rd attempt at slimming world. I fall off the wagon so easily as I lose weight so slowly and takes so bloody long to see results, that I just give up. Angry however I need to do it this time as I have booked a holiday for next year to keep me motivated.

Can I join please. I am starting at a class on Wed 5/8/15 I need to lose approx. 3.5 stone! I have tried S/W once before and although I did lose weight it came off slow, I am telling myself that I would like to lose a couple of stone by my holiday to Tenerife which is the 16/11/15. Good luck to everyone starting out on this journey. :-)

Ive restarted yesterday after joining in January, losing a stone and then having two family bereavements threw me off the waggon.

Glad to see when I weighed yesterday that I was 3lbs less than January, but I still have a long way to go.

Im not doing the classes, but I am one of four friends all restarting so we have a whatsapp group going to support one another.

I want to lose 2lbs a week from now til NYE - a push I know, but I cannot stay this wobbly. I will still be a good 1.5st over at NYE but its a good starting point.
