So, I joined slimming world again on Tuesday. I am the heaviest I have ever been.

I have a new consultant that has an amazing story so she really inspires me and remind me that I can do this.

I thought I needed a place where could write down what I'm doing/eating as a visual to keep me going.

Here goes...

I rejoined on Tuesday too. Have you had much success with it in the past?

I first joined in 2011 when I was 19st 8. I lost 4st 1lb before I became pregnant. I'm now back to 17st. I've given myself an initial target of 15st.

Good Luck!

Well done you. For joining again and for posting.

I had my first weigh in yesterday. Started week one at 16st 3 and lost 3.5 lbs to get to 15st 13.5.

I did weight watchers a few years ago and started at 17st 1. Lost almost 3 stone and stopped going. Decided to do low carb. Gave up. Decided to do clean eating. Gave up.etc etc etc! You get the picture. Smile

I met a lady yesterday who has lost 13.5 STONE in total. 8.5 stone with slimming world. So impressive.

So it can be done!

I'm feeling really motivated at the moment. Going on holiday next weekend so want another 3.5 off to get to my first half stone before I go.

It won't make much or any difference to how I look but will just make me feel better.

I'm walking and doing a toning machine thing as well. Trying to walk 10,000 steps a day and build up to 15,000. Planning on exercising when I'm on holiday and trying to be relatively sensible food wise.

What are your weaknesses? Mine are bread and wine and biscuits. Too much wine and I get the munchies. Not buying any biscuits that I like now. And really limiting bread.

Thank you for replying! :)

My weaknesses are grazing for anything in the house and sweet stuff! Mostly chocolate Grin

I am intending to use my syns though, if I deprive myself completely I will crash and burn, agaiin!

Slimming World has always worked for me but each time I've just not gone back after a holiday or Christmas because I didn't want to face a gain... We are going on holiday in August but I will be going back afterwards, gain or no gain. :)

Well done you for re-joining. I am a similar size to you - I joined online 11 weeks ago with a starting weight of 129.9 kg (20st 6lbs) and was a size 24/26. Definitely the biggest I have ever been. I have always been big, but my weight has crept up over the last 3 years or so (since I have been doing my PhD). The stress of studying has led to mental health issues which primarily affects my diet and exercise, so I decided to do something about it after I got help from my GP and a counselling service.

I have lost 8.2 kg (1st 4lbs) so far and noticing the difference too. I am lucky that my partner is doing it with me, so we have been able to get rid of all the "naughty" food from the house. I have also gone from doing no exercise at all to swimming once a week and going for walks multiple times a week. I bought a fitbit a few weeks ago which has encouraged me to exercise more :)

That's amazing emma, well done!!!

You don't notice how the weight can creep up do you? I certainly didn't, well, not at first. Then when I did I stuck my head in the sand for a bit. Blush

My husband wants to do sw with me too but he's finding it a little more difficult to commit to it full time at the minute. He's much more of a gym person than me so when he finally chooses a gym he'll be all in!

I am a member of a gym but being so big I worry people are watching me, I've only been 3 times in the last year, I wish I was confident enough to go more as I enjoy it when I'm there. Hey ho, there's always walking :)

It definitely does creep up. It was only when my size 24 jeans were getting snug that I felt down about how big I was. Don't know why but size 26 just felt much bigger than a 24 to me!

Bit disappointed this week. I weighed in this morning and only lost 0.3 kg. I have eaten really well and done much more walking than usual, but lost the same as last week which was my time of the month. My partner lost the same, but he is much smaller than me and eats a lot more syns than I do! He also had a work party on Friday where he ate loads of syns. Not sure where I went wrong :(

Hello ladies,
I've started slimming world (online) today so will be using mumsnet for motivation and to post my weigh ins. I'm still a little confused as to what I'm supposed to be eating, I get the general idea but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I would like to know if what I have eaten today is ok and what I could do to improve it.

Breakfast: 2 black coffees
1 banana

Lunch: half a plate of baked beans
Quarter of a plate of scrambled eggs (fry light, 2 eggs no milk)
Grilled back bacon (fat removed)

I am 14st 3.5 lbs and 5"4.5
Thanks in advance ladies
Sarah x

Overall it looks ok, but make sure you aren't starving yourself. Some people eat more than others anyway, but just make sure you don't get hungry.

Oh, and you are meant to have 1/3 of your plate as speed foods to get the best results.

Make sure you use your healthy extras as that helps with your balanced diet. So you can have milk/cheese, just make sure you measure it out. Same with bread/cereal.

With bacon and egg, try mushrooms and tomatoes. Then you get your third speed. Beans are free but not speed.

Does anyone have an airfryer? I bought a cheapish one in lidl and made roast potatoes in it. So deliciously crispy. Can't wait to do the chips too.

For dinner tonight, I had tuna with cous cous, Edamame and cauliflower rice. Then I went for a swim. Fingers crossed for weigh in!

Hello Smile

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread?

I started slimming world last Monday and today was my first weigh in - I've lost a pound and a half. I was disappointed to be honest but am determined to carry on!

My starting weight last week was 19st 2lb - I couldn't believe it Blush

How are you all finding sw? Are you filling up on free food such as pasta and rice? I have been and I think that's the reason I've only had a small loss.

My plan for this week is to go easier on the carbs, drink more water and try to get a bit of exercise in here and there. Started the 30 day squat challenge today too!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been online - it got a bit crazy at work!

I've been eating really well and will post my day to day diary as soon as I can. :)
Hi to everyone who's just joined in this little thread, I wish you all the very best of luck - WE CAN DO THIS!!

I was just wondering, what does everyone spend their syns on please? I've been a bit unsure about this all week and as a result haven't really used them! Although I did have a mixed grill last night with 3 proper sausages at 4 syns each! Everything else in the plate was free/speed though :)

I am a chocoholic!!! So yesterday i had a cadburys chomp (5.5 syns) late in the evening and I will probably do the same everyday because I crave it. I think mine will be used on chocolate and sauces!! :)

I don't tend to use many of my syns as I have been able to fill my sugar craving with fruit instead of chocolate. Yesterday I had 2 syns, both in my homemade chicken fried rice - sesame oil and some uncle bens microwave rice. I do tend to use more of my syns on the weekends, particularly if I have a cooked breakfast. I like my ketchup, so use syns on that. I also like the Tesco Healthy Living Cumberland sausages, which are 1 syn each :D

I had a little bit of chocolate melted on some strawberries last week which was yummy!

I had my first weigh in on tuesday - 7lbs gone forever!! Grin

Well done thatstoast, thats amazing!! Fingers crossed for some bling coming your way next week :)

I ended up spending my syns on sausages this week! I haven't tried the sw sausages from iceland yet and I've heard they're syn free apparently so might give them a go. Got to admit tho, I enjoyed my cumberland sausages and they were well worth the 4syns each:)

As for sugar cravings, I'm much the same as you emma, I've been having so much fruit that I haveen't craved chocolate nearly as much as I thought I would. I have had a couple of rolos but they're only 1syn each so it satisfies an urge without costing me my days syn allowance :)

They don't taste as good as "normal" cumberland sausages, but it was good enough for me to go with my cooked breakfast!

Well done on your 7lbs!! Keep up the hard work, but don't be disheartened if you don't lose as much in future weeks. I think around 1lb a week is much more normal. Looking at my loss in the 3 months, I tend to have 1 great week (2 kg loss) followed by 3 weeks of smaller losses (0-0.5 kg). I want to lose around 1 kg a week, but not happening so far!

Well done Tulip! And thatstoast. Great losses.

I lost 4lbs this week. Takes me to 7.5lbs in total.

I tend to use my syns on wine - although have switched to low alcohol wine with sparkling water. I also refuse to use low fat spreads so use some syns on butter. Am not eating much bread though so haven't used too many.
