Hi. I went to my first meeting today and I'm so glad I've taken my first step. How can I find out how many syns I can use each day? Any newbie tips welcome too.

tips;
Measure your healthy extras. for my first month i didn't bother and was so surprised to see how much extra cereal i'd been eating, and how much milk i was missing out on!

eat as much speed food as you can (most fruits and veggies, details in your book). I did one week of speed and lost an extra 4 lbs than I had on the other weeks.

find your go to free foods for snacks. i love the muller light youghurts and having a stash of them in means i don't reach for any syn food.

use your syns. add sauces to meals to liven them up a bit, or use them for things you miss. a lot of people in my group always say they think they didn't lose so much because they didn't use their syns.

check out the recipes on the website for amazing inspiration for free meals!

15 every day! Sounds great - thanks. Great tips too. I stocked up on muller lights today and was amazed to hear they are free. At the moment I can't imagine I should ever be hungry if I can eat so many nice things at any time. I'm assuming I need to watch for portion control though.

Portion control.. not really. As long as 1/3 is speed food they say you should be fine!
It's okay to have off days. If you deprive yourself 100%, it's impossible! I have had a quite a few weekends where I have went over my syns and i've still lost. I have missed bread the most, but been enjoying trying out new recipes.
For breakfast- slow oats are really good. so filling and really yummy!

Thanks poppy. I'll definitely try the slow oats. I'll miss bread and butter too - one of my weaknesses.
