how much do you eat?

hi all

I'm on week 1 of SW and I have my first weigh on Monday. I'm getting concerned that I'm not going to have lost any weight because I'm eating more at mealtimes than I would normally. for instance, I've been having porridge for breakfast (rather than cereal) and lunches this week have been couscous and salmon, omelette with mushrooms and peppers and hardboiled egg with mayonnaise, pepper and rice. Then I've been having dinners of jacket and beans and tuna, salmon and couscous (the leftovers were the lunch) and chicken, slimming world chips and beans. So that seems a lot- normally lunches would be a sandwich or something quick. What I am not doing at all is snacking in between other than a bit of fruit in the evening. normally I snack a lot (and drink wine in the evening) So my question is will I loose weight on this? should I be eating small amounts? I don't have massive portions to start with so I haven't dropped portion size but wondering whether I should to loose the weight. I've been having my healthy extras, not using all my syns and not adding butter, oil etc when I cook. I think I've been influenced by the SW book telling me I can eat as much as I want of the free foods- for instance today !y omelette was cooked with 3 eggs, normally it would be 2 but I was hungry due to a run and no snacks.....so I'm worried I may have just substituted snacks for big lunches and will have put all this effort in and not lost a thing......

The slimming world plan is basically eat as much as you want of the right things, and I do believe it works for me! - 5 weeks in and 10lbs lost- hoped to have been more but xmas and new year got in the way. I wish you luck with your weigh in and it sounds like you are eating the right things! Are you using the extra light mayonaise? I was shocked with the syns in the full fat mayo and steered well clear even if I had syns available.

I joined 22nd October and I've lost 2st 4.5lb so far. And yes, I eat more. What you need to remember is that a third of your plate MUST be speed foods (food with an S symbol next to them).

You can fill up on all the free foods but don't forget at least a third has to be S.

I am sure you will lose weight, you are eating 'healthy' food even if there is more of it grin - that is the beauty of SW. 'Just a sandwich lunch' can actually be very high in fat/carbs/calories compared to a 3 egg omelette with a huge side salad.

I started 3 weeks ago (third weigh in is this wednesday) have lost 2lbs first week and 2lbs second week and that was with two cheat days! I find I eat bigger portions (especially lunch) and it seems to be working.

I felt like this the first week but I've found that even though i was eating large portions at first, my stomach has started to shrink.

I've also started recognising the full feeling sooner so now at week 3 I eat smaller meals.

Well done pos 1. If your not eating in between meals you can/will have more when you do eat. My meals aren't massive but have a wine addiction too, you will learn when your full and as threefrazzled says your stomach will fill up quicker as you get into it.
Think 1lb a week for as long as it is to target for you.
