Slimming World

What am I doing wrong?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've just started slimming world again. I have tried sw many times over the years, along with many other diets. I've come to conclusion that I have the most succes with sw, I find it the easiest to stick to but ... Here I am on day 2 and I'm starving! This is where I usually mess it all up because I'm so hungry that I'll end up eating anything.

I've eaten plenty today so wondering whether my body is just going through an adjustment? Does anybody find this? I've had Weetabix for breakfast, scrambled egg on whole meal toast for lunch. I've also had an apple, banana, some grapes and a muller light yogurt. I've got a stew in slow cooker for tea. But what can I have to keep me going again until then? I'm wondering whether to have 4 meals a day.

Can I ask what a standard slimming world day is for you and what you would eat? Thank you x

day 4 for me, I've had:

(HexA: 100ml milk and 1 small 35g tub philly light
HexB: 2 slices wholemeal bread (400g loaf).)

Bfast: Toast, tomato, scrambled egg with smoked salmon trimmings.

Lunch: Home made tomato, veg and lentil soup (delish), 4 fat slices of cucumber with philly and smoked salmon on top. Mullerlight yoghurt.

tea x 4 with splash of milk. plus several herbal teas.

Dinner will be some chicken dish (as yet undecided) - with veg.

No syns as yet.

I found day 2 hard - major sugar cravings, day 3 easier and today I haven't been hungry or obsessing about food.

Yesterday:
HexA: 2 dairy lea triangles
HexB: 2 slices toast

Bfast: toast and dairylea plus 2 hard boiled eggs. An apple
Lunch: Tuna Pasta (pasta tuna, cucmber, tomato, apple in ultralow mayonaise and natural yoghurt dressing with a dash of mustard. - 2 syns
Dinner: Teriyaki Salmon on noodles with stirfry veg.
Snack: Banana

Milk in 4 teas: 2 syns
Oil in stirfry: 1/2 syn

I think it's your body adjusting to the different type of food. I have had a month off slimming world and I'm back on as of Monday and the foods I've eaten today just haven't filled me at all.

I've had
Boiled egg on wholemeal toast with sliced tomatoes and fruit
2 alpen lights
Leftover casserole and salad
2 apples
A bag of popcorn

Are you doing EE or SP?

You're not eating enough fat. Fat and protein keep you full. If you really want to drop the weight give up sugar. Throw out any low fat or light products in your house. They are a false economy especially those sugary cereal bars. Healthy fats like butter, cheese, olive oil, avocado and olives teamed with protein like chicken will keep you full for a lot longer.

This is why I hate SW. Everything you've eaten today has been high GI, causing blood sugar spikes and leaving you even hungrier. As per above post, you'd be much better off increasing proteins and fats and cutting down on carbs. Come join us in the low carb boot camp!

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate the responses. I will def have a look at the low carb boot camp.

Thanks for the slimming world recommendations too. I think I will have the tuna pasta mayo tomorrow for my lunch :-) think that will be filling.

I think I'm doing the original sw (not the ee) today. Seems that's the way it's going

A really good lunch is salad Nicoise. tuna (Hex on green) plus loads of free eggs, spuds, salad and fat free salad dressing.

Stick with it a bit, take advantage of your free foods. You will feel like you are eating too much, you won't be. Saying this as someone who has lost 4st on SW Smile

I personally don't get on with anything carb heavy, slimming world worked well for me but only when I relied upon red days - as they used to be - which is essentially low carb.

Slimming world worked for me to an extent but would always get me to a size 12 and no lower. I have to say 5:2 really does work but you have to be disciplined enough to stick to it I really think it comes down to calories at the end of the day and Slimming World done slightly wrong can see too many cals being ingested.

See 5:2 worked for me at first but I got fed up and started eating too much on non fast days

Personally I'd say your foods need to be filling as well as free. More protein, eggs/ meat/fish,more unrefinded carbs - veggies and that might help.
I've had no fruit today but had boiled egg & toast, cottage pie left offs and my tea was sw steak pie & sw chips (5syns) I'm full up.x

I lose the most the weeks that I eat the most. Try making batches of syn free snacks like the samosas, sweetcorn fritatas etc. Also load up on veg and salad. Lots and lots of it.

What have you had to drink today? Sometimes thirst and hunger can overlap. If you've not had that much to drink then it may explain why you're more hungry.

Today mine looks like this:-

Breakfast:
2 weetabix and milk (Hex A and Hex B)
Muller light yogurt
Grapes

Lunch:
Beetroot, cucumber, lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, tuna with pizza express light salad dressing

Snack will be more grapes

Dinner:
Chicken in a mushroom sauce with broccoli, carrots and a bit of pasta.

I have had 2 pints of water so far and a cup of tea. About to go and get my 3rd pint now.

Probably use about 3 syns today (if I can stay away from a glass of wine!)

For snacks I love to have carrot batons at the ready.

If you want a good sweet treat that lasts a while, put a muller light yoghurt in the freezer then have it as frozen yoghurt.
The coconut with chocolate is my favourite.

I have to say, I'm usually a low carb high protein girl but SW is opening my eyes to many other things. I've done far better with steady weight loss on SW than low carbing.
Different things suit different people.

Keep going, keep planning, keep focussed.
