Thought i would ask here as more ppl are using this board. Its the plan that has apparently replaced Success Express. Im doing their EE which ive lost 3 and a half stone on. I lost 10 stone on Green previously.

I dont like the sound of the new SP plan as it mainly seems to be meat fish eggs and veg.

I already have cut out pasta diet coke noodles mullerlights when i rejoined. The SP plan seems far too restrictive. And ive already been successful on their other plans. Is anyone else on here trying it and what do you think.

I did three days of it and fell off the wagon spectacularly. It's too restrictive for me. I'm not a vegetarian but I did mostly Green days, with the odd Extra Easy thrown in when I fancied a meaty day.

I find Extra Easy hard because of losing the additional healthy extras you get with Green. Having an extra 'B' choice on SP didn't make up for the loss of pasta, potatoes and the other 'A'. I think I was mental to try to do SP as my 'main' plan as it's not realistic for me. I'm going to go back to Green, even if they're starting to phase out support for it and use the SP in place of Success Express.

SomeSort i feel EXACTLY the same. When i cut my portion sizes in Aug/Sept 2013 i had terrible colic for five months while my stomach got used to it. I cant go through that again I just cant. On SP i dont think i would last 48 hours.

When my consultant told us there was a "surprise" after Christmas i knew the news was not going to be good.

I'm glad it's not just me! My meeting is tomorrow and I know I've not done well, but I'll be staying and probably telling the consultant exactly why! I think it's back to Green for me, for sure. Even if SW stop supporting it completely (which I can see happening) at least the syn values will be the same as EE for me, because I won't be having anything meaty that would push them up. I never used meat as a healthy extra either, so as long as I note down all the cheese values unique to Green, I'll be fine.

The lack of yogurt on SP was really hard too. I'm used to a breakfast of berries and Total 0% yogurt. I know they say the occasional yogurt is ok, but that doesn't cover having it every day for breakfast and no way could I spend the sole A choice on milk and have cereal.

Also, wow at your losses! I was close to my 2 stone award but life got a bit crappy and I fell off the wagon in October. I went back to class last week and I've regained half a stone, but determined to lose it and carry on. I'm not a fast loser though, which is why I had hopes for the SP plan, but it's so not for me!

I have read up on it but am going to stick to EE. I find it too restrictive which to me is not what SW is about. EE works for me so if it ain't broke... I may try it when I get nearer target though but that is still a stone and a half away yet

I've just signed up again. The consultant i went to on Friday explained SP and suggested we do it for a week. However when I queried something with my usual consultant, she said I shouldn't be doing it as I'm a new member (it's been over a year since I last went) and also is really meant for people who are a bit 'stuck' and need a loss 'boost'. She said usual meal planning should still be extra easy. Smile

I'm not the OP, but 'AIBU to want to talk about the new Slimming World SP plan?'. There you go. Wink

Probably should be in chat, but if it matters that much to you, MardyBra (awesome name!), ask for it to be moved.

I did the EE plan a few years ago and I'm planning on rejoining SW again. Will read up on SP but I think I will be doing EE again.

I just LOVE all the slimming world/ weight watcher threads. You are ALL being VERY UNREASONABLE. How, just how can you claim 'so and so plan worked for me' when it clearly hasn't because you're back for more?
Get yourselves to a gym, splash out on a personal trainer and make life choices which funilly enough work for life!
Oh and good luck.

MyGastIsTinselled · 05/01/2015 07:27

SP isn't a day to day plan, it's meant to be used as a booster, like Success Express was. EE hasn't really changed.

And to the sniffy poster who said 'get to the gym', gyms around here cost anything from £50 a month and as I'm not working I can't afford that or a personal trainer. I've lost over 2 stone on SW so it HAS worked, I'm still talking about it because I have more to lose.

Billabong - harsh - but ultimately fair I think. However - some people do do better as part of a 'thing'. It's not for me - I went your way - but some people need the group thing.

of course it works if you follow it properly. It is not a diet its a lifestyle change to be successful so bog off to the poster who scathingly said get a personal trainer. Are they working for free these days then? many people have lost loads of weight following it and those that haven't or have put it on again are the ones who treated it as a diet and went back to old habits instead of keeping up with the lifestyle changes. It is not actually that dissimilar to the NHS recommendations for a healthy balanced diet.

YY StepAway i was 21 stone in 2002 and got down to 10 stone 12 I put some weight back on but most of that is off now. Ive got whatever my xmas weight is to lose and another 10 pounds after that then its on the maintanance plan and i didnt put it all back on again. Nowhere near it.

SW encourages people to eat a lot of protein meat eggs etc Someone on JSA or low wages wouldnt be able to afford to do SW let alone hire a personal trainer so YOU get a grip Billabong and check your privilege.

I'm trying the sp again today. I did it yesterday and felt not bloated last night.
I had toast & eggs for breakfast roast pork lunch with lots of veg n tea & toast last night. Today is weetabix & fruit, hmade soup for lunch and a cottage pie for dinner.
It might be a winner for me.Smile
As long as I can stay off the Cake & Wine. I won't need a pt @ the gym. Thought we'd been hijacked by KH.

Gutted to be losing the Green plan as I'm vegetarian Sad. I've not tried the SP plan yet as although we've got the new packs we haven't had the proper talk yet. The bank holidays have messed up our class dates.

Depending on how I get on this week on the scales I may give it a go.

(Three stone down - four to go).

The sp plan still covers the veggie substitutes but not the big carb foods. I'd stick with green if it worked for you previously. X

Who on earth comes onto a thread that asks a specific question about a specific weight-loss plan to tell people that they should follow another weight-loss plan? Confused

Anyway, to answer your question, OP, SP isn't supposed to be maintained long-term. In fact, a week is the longest it's recommended that you stay on it, exactly because it is limited which means a) you'll struggle to stay on plan, and the whole point of SW is that it's easy to stay on track and b) you might miss out on some vital nutrients. It's meant to be more of a boost of you feel your losses are slowing or you have a slinky dress you need to fit into for a special event. I haven't tried it yet but may have a go later in the week once the DC are back, but I don't expect it to be easy. Especially since I'm veggie and it's a high-protein low-carb plan.

Hemlock, I miss Green too, as a fellow veggie. EE is the same as Green for veggies, but with one less each of the A and B healthy extras. So I don't worry too much if I have an extra a or B here and there - it just means I'm basically back on Green.

My attitude is im on a healthy eating plan not taking part in a Formula 1 race. I have a wedding to go to at the end of May but they are not going to rescind the invite if im not a certain weight by then.

And the cynic in me thinks they have brought this in right after Christmas so that they can use the Christmas weight gains to say that this will work so much better.
