Restless sleeper, rolling around in cot

Hi

No complaints (for now!) about the length of my 9 mo DS's sleep - he is sleeping through. However, he is SUCH a restless sleeper. Since he was tiny when he stirred he has always lifted his legs up, but stayed on his back until recently, when he suddenly started working his way up his cot in his sleep, rolling around until his head is jammed up against the cot bars or he's upside down, or horizontal, or lying on his side or tummy. He is in a sleeping bag but still manages to do it! It can't be restful.

I am not particularly worried (in fact it is quite funny to see what position he has ended up in when I come to bed!) and am assuming there is nothing I can do really, but wondered, does anyone else have a DC like this and does it get better? I am thinking he will be falling out of bed regularly once he's in one unless he sleeps more calmly!

Well I don't know about growing out of it - but my 7 month DS is exactly the same. Usually sing him a song until he gets pretty drousy - sometimes let him have a suck on his dummy - and in that state I will put him down on his back and he will straight away turn over onto his side or tummy and go off to sleep. I can then find him in pretty much any position if I go into wake him - normally scrunched up in the corner of the cot! Today he was very awake when I put him down - he fussed for a couple of minutes and went off. I went up to check on him and he was literally rolled up against the bars with his hands holding onto the rails fast asleep. Moved him back into the middle of the cot - but he seemed happy enough!
