6mo bedtime turned into disaster, help pls!

My 6mo DD has largely been a good sleeper and pretty good at going down to bed. We do bath, feed, bed - sometimes she falls asleep on the boob sometimes she will go down awake and put herself to sleep. The last week has been a complete disaster though. She is really distressed at bedtime, often refusing to feed, pulling off & trying to stick fingers in mouth, back arching, crying etc. We spend ages trying to calm her, rock her, soothe her etc but often she is screaming for ages.
It does seem at least partly to be her teeth coupled then with her getting overtired & wound up from screaming so much. Don't understand why her teeth bother her so much more at this time though? or could it be something else?
If anyone has any ideas on what to try with her would be greatly appreciated!! Calpol does seem to help a bit but am not sure its a good idea to give her that too often?? Use Calgel and teetha also but they have limited effect..
If no ideas maybe you could all come and reassure me that this is just a phase that won't last too long

It will pass! My DD is the same when teeth are coming. The good thing is she has a good bedtime routine and a good settler so when things go back to normal, normal is very good.

Thank you for reassurance.. Hopefully her teeth will pop out soon then! How much do you give your lo calpol when she is like that? Not sure I should be giving it to her every evening but then she seems so upset and in pain...

I give her a small spoon when she is teething, it seems to be enough. I wouldn't like to be dosing up with Calpol, but if they are in pain it's warranted IMO.
Hope this passes soon for you

(Do you think I used the word "good" often enough in my previous posT??- sorry!)

Haha I didn't notice until you pointed it out...I do that all the time! We had a slightly better evening last night although she then woke 4 times in the night..but seemed less in pain so that was good! Thanks for your responses
