Is this a rod I see before me? To bottle 12 month old or not

My baby has been having sleeping or rather waking issues since month 8 - yeah, we were spoilt with a perferct sleeping baby until then. He's just recovered from a bout of illnes and I'm back to sleep train by minimuminteraction and putting him down. We do give him some herbal tea, and last night, for the first time, he grabbed the bottle and eventually fell asleep on his own, no fuss. But now I'm wondering if this is not going to cause problems later? Anybody with experience? Thanks
