Outgrowing her moses basket...

DD is 3 months and fast outgrowing her moses basket. She has her own room all ready and set up for her with her cot in, but I don't feel that I'm ready for her to not be sharing a room with me. I would love to have a bedside cot, but literally only just have room in my bedroom for a moses basket.

She tends to come into my bed for night feeds, and occasionally we will fall asleep together (her in sleeping bag on top of my duvet). I'm super aware of her being there, and since she's been born I stay completely still when asleep, and wake up if I need to change positions. I'm strongly considering co-sleeping. BUT, I live with my Mum who believes that I will definitely roll over and squish her or suffocate her if I do.

The thought of having to get up in the middle of the night when the monitor goes off and toddle into her room and feed her on an uncomfortable folding computer chair is really not appealing. And if I bought her into my room to feed, I know I wouldn't want to get back up again and try and settle her in her cot.

Is starting to co-sleep full time at 3 months a bad idea? Or should I go with my instincts and stand my ground with my Mum? I feel about 12, but she has been amazingly helpful and supportive.

Help!

I had the same dilemma and realised that moses baskets come in more than one size and we had a small one. Borrowed a larger one from a friend and dd fitted into it until 6 months when I was much happier about putting her in her own room. So worth checking the basket size.
