DS2 is nearly 7 months old and had never slept through the night until DH and I got tough on Friday night!

We did the usual routine of bath, feed and bed. We didnt wake him for a feed at 11pm and he woke at 4am as usual. He also usually wakes at 6am. At 4am when he woke we left him and 5 mins later DH went to him and cuddled him. He did this 2 or 3 times and DS went back to sleep til 8am!! We repeated the pattern on Saturday and Sunday night and he slept from 7pm til 8am both nights!! I am sooooooo happy. Just got to find a way of making my 3 year old sleep til 8am.

DS2 was only awake for about 20 mins on the first night and nothing on the other 2 nights. We have also moved him out of our bedroom so we dont hear all his murmurings.

collision congratulations, here i am back again i thought i had cracked it with controlled crying and got my d/d off the bottle with controlled crying etc... and i have been away for 6 weeks on a mission of mercy to my DAd's who is 85 and went home to see him as my mum gone in to home full-time with alzheimers he told he cannot drive so i went home with two kids one of whom turned 4 whilst there. Not all doom and gloom had good time but old people and babies don't mix too well but the long and the short of it is my d/d can climb out of cot now and won't settle to sleep alone we all slept in double bed at Grandas so i was too exhausted to try and enforce it tonight. To make matters worse i am starting back to 3 days work on monday and really need to get my sleep. d/h away with work until 14th any suggestions anybody as this is really hard. D/s is very strong willed and loving and great fun in many ways but i have spoiled her to keep the peace at home for 6 weeks!!!!

Butany - just do the routine as you did before. It WON'T take as long - she just needs 'reminding'

BTW - well done collison

Great to hear that collision, you have now the tools to keep things in shape

... and I suspect that you will also have success with your DS1, it may take a bit longer but there's light at the end of the tunnel

ButAny......just keep going and it will happen.

It is exhausting but the baby just needs to learn to fall asleep alone without feeding. How old is your little one? If they are on 3 lots of solids and milk every day they do not need feeding at night.

Sorry you have had such a rough few weeks and I hope work is OK for you. It does get better.

Both my boys slept til 7am this morning which is better for us.

My DS (7m) now sleeps through the night! Wha hey! After bathing and feeding he goes to bed at 7pm and he wakes at 7am. It was sleeping on the tummy that did it. Much to my horror, my partner put him down like that...but it works!!
