I think if they sleep for more than 4/5 hours you are supposed to wake them for a feed. Like hell I ever did, though! grin

Staying awake for 2/3 hours is a lot of awake for a newborn. As long as he's happy....

Congratulations, BTW! smile

He's prbably intelligent, and is going to be hard work as a toddler. grin

I found this link on Hunkermunker's website very interesting.

MW told me to wake DS2 to feed every 2/3 hours when he was a newborn (so long ago -- he's now a strapping 13-week-old -- sob). But then he had jaundice so was very sleepy and needed to feed often to flush it out.

Congrats btw

Count total hours sleep and wet/dirty nappies and enjoy the long interval... it'll probably go tits up in a few days with a growth spurt.

bfing unfortunately... do you think I'd choose to keep the hours I do? wink
We've started food today, (6mo already! shock) but he wasn't impressed tbh so I can see the night feeding continuing for a while... <groan>

I found my 2 sleepy in the early days... dd made up for it after a couple of weeks though [grim]

Congratulations! I can only hope that when my DS2 arrives in October, he will sleep as well. If DS1 is anything to go by I am doubting that this will be the case.
