My dd is 2.5 and still in her cot, but can climb in and out v easily so we leave the side down now and are basically using it like a bed. She's always been very good at bedtime and had a good routine. But recently has started popping straight back out of her cot after she's put down, and playing in her room. She has the door closed, so it's pretty dark, and she plays happily and quietly, and then usually ends up crashed out somewhere on the floor. Trouble is, this can last for up to 2 hours after bedtime. If I go up and put her back into bed, she's straight back out again, and shouting "I don't want to go to bed, I want to read a story".
Is this a problem which needs sorting out, or should I just live with it?! Clearly it would be much worse if she was unhappy or coming out of her room. I've read 'Toddler Taming' but most of that seems to refer to kids coming out of their bedrooms, which she doesn't do (yet!). We've just dropped her daytime nap at home, but she still sleeps for a short while at nursery. I've also tried removing some of the toys and books from her room temporarily, but I can't take everything out!
