big bed not cot

hi
my daughter will be 3 in september and still wants to be in her cot. but we want the cot back for October when number 3 is due. her brother swapped from cot to bed no problems at under 2 years old but she doesn't want to. she likes her 'big girl bed' and will happily climb in and out, play, read etc and even pretend to sleep but won't actually go to bed in it (major tantrum). If I even try leaving the side down on her cot she is not happy. she hasn't tried to climb in and out of her cot at night either. she is out of nappies at night as well and has been for several months .
any suggestions as the last thing I want to do is spend money on a new cot

you will just have to try her in the big bed she cant stay in a cot forever. make sure u have a bedguard on the side so that she feels more secure could u get her a new duvet cover plus teddies or something else as a reward. how about a reward chart if she stays in the bed. put a stair gate on her door entrance.

My dd is a similar age and still in a cot. Can you afford to buy a second cot? Why should she move, if she doesn't want to?

she has a bed guard, she chose the bed covers. she is also starting to look a little too big for the cot anyway. she was very keen on stickers when we were using them with her big brother for somethi ng else so we might give that a try
