Room temperature for 5 and a half month old?

Hi!! I'm gathering opinions .

I know the advice for newborns is to keep the room temperature between 16-20ºC, but does it still apply to slightly older babies? The temp in our room was 23 last night so I put DS to bed in pyjamas only and a 1 tog gro bag and opened a small window to get the temp down. He then woke up pretty cold at 3am and I put a thin blanket on him as didn't want to wake him further. Have put him to bed in the same tonight but with the addition of a vest. Do you still follow the guidelines, or do you go by how you feel youself or by feeling baby's chest?

Thanks.

Baby only needs about 1 layer more than you: so, if you sleep in PJs and under duvet, he only needs vest in addition to that.

I use 2.0 tog Grobag pretty much year round (in Scotland, mind ) and just add a cotton blanket as needed. And he wears a vest and sleep suit with feet.

I go by the lowest temperature the room will reach so even though the room might be warm at the start of the night I would dress my lo for the middle of the night temperature so I know they will be warm enough throughout the night.

Thanks

DS woke again last night, but he seemed warm enough. He had a bright red hot cheek so I think I'm going to put this one down to teething.
