I know there have been quite a few posts along those lines but I'm too stupid and/or tired to find them . Not sure what I'm expecting in replies, probably just the reassurance that I'm not on my own feeling completely useless
On top of having started to wake up properly at 05:00 (which seems to be an age thing going by what I've read on mn - he's 8 months old) ds now keeps waking up at night nearly on an hourly basis crying/winging.
I think it's a combination of
- moving up in bed and banging his head,
- probably teething
- last couple of nights he was hungrier than ususal,
- possibly wind and
- just plain... I want a cuddle...
- Tried him in a sleeping bag but he get's really cranky so no gain there
- tried calgel and calpol but no change either
- made sure he has a big dinner and thickened milk at 8pm
- always wind him and his burps do his father proud
- not picking him up now just putting him back down and covering him up and quickly patting his bum (seems to calm him down)
Can't really do controlled crying because it wakes dd (3.3) and she then will come in and tell me that ds is crying... and then she's shattered and cranky in the morning when she's going to nursery. Probably should still try, and it might work after a week, but a tired and grumpy dd is a mix of screaming banshee & godzilla's destructive gene!
