20 week old DS (big boy) has suddenly starting turning himself in his cot and wakes himself up with his head wedged up to the bars widthways in the cot. He seems to do it by raising his legs flopping to the side and then bringing them upright...is actually quite funny but I think the odd angle is waking him. He is in gro-bag but think maybe need to tuck in light sheet round him...? Is such fidgety baba tho and dont want to anoy him...any ideas?

dd1 used to do this all the time.

Nothing I tried made a difference - she always managed to do it. I used to go in quickly and quietly, sort her out and exit sharp-ish.

She did grow out of it eventually (was replaced by pulling up on the bars and not being able to sit down again iirc )

Hi, I have the same problem with dd (6.5 mo). When her winter sleepingbag is in the wash I use a summer bag with a blanket firmly tucked in. Makes little difference to her wiggliness I'm afraid! I think it's something they have to grow out of...

DD (8.5mths) has been doing this since she was about 13 wks! Luckily, she's got a huge cotbed but is getting bigger now and I am just waiting for her to get stuck/bang herself. She nearly got stuck in pil's cot which is a normal size one.

If anyone can come up with a brilliant solution??

Silverfrog, how did you get her to sit down and go back to sleep again?

DS (9 months) is doing this at the moment and will stay stood up all night if I don't go in and help him down. He then immediately flips onto his tummy and starts the process of getting up all over again. And again, and again....... This is taking up whole night some nights, and I'm back at work now so total nightmare. I did wonder if it's BECAUSE I'm back at work that he won't settle, or is it just a phase? Has been going on for about a month now.
