daft question about cots and bumpers

sorry, this is such a silly post when compared to everyone elses... but... we removed the cot bumpers when DD (now 18 weeks) started moving around during the night. When I go in to DD (if she wakes during the night or to feed her in the morning) DD often has a leg jammed through the cot bars (although not stuck). She won't come to any harm will she??!!! Sorry, wondering if I should but the bumpers back on?!! thanks.

Use a sleep bag, like here similar ones are available in Boots, ToysRus, Tesco, Asda, Matalan, Mothercare, to name a few if you want to try a cheaper model first.

i did not know you suppose to remove bumpers after certain months, and i used it with both dc untill they moved to bed
they both used sleeping bag/grobag since birth(obviously from birth ones)
i cant see danger using bumper untill chidren older, as long as they are securily tied.

I thought you were supposed to remove them once they could sit up, along with anything else that is tied to the cot.

They should not be used at all ideally as the baby can get to close and push face into them, also they can get caught under them and they can retain heat within the sleeping area.

If they are used then they should be removed once the baby can roll over / push up with arms as they could be used as an aid to pulling themsleves up and possibly toppling over the cot side, in a more mobile child they could act as a step up.

As i say these are all possibles & the sids info is not to use them Bedding answer
