My ds is 16mts and usually sleeps through until 5 ish. THen the only way he will go back to sleep is if i put a dummy in. I have tried to leave him, but he just ends completly waking himself up through shouting. He doesn't really need a dummy any other times unless hes very upset. How can I get him to re train himself to get himself back to sleep at 5am rather than want to get up???

Have you tried leaving a few dummies in his cot so he can find one and put it back in himself?

i leave about 6 in my ds cot!! That said he launched them all at me last night not wanting to go to bed and i left him have his strop - i went back in late and he was fast asleep without the dummy! I watch with interest as ireally want to didtch it all together.

nappy i would in your case just leave 1 if he throws it, it is gone.

Do you only need to do the dummy insertion once IsItReally? if yes i would live with it for the extra sleep. If he has a cuddly could you fix one to it?

Yes i have learned that lesson thanks - he got in to habit of having one on each hand and one in his mouth for bed - gone back to 1 so he is missile freeIf he throws it he has lost it - he was a good boy tonight .
