my 14 week old has always been a pretty good sleeper usually going to bed about 8.30 after her feed. For the past 4 weeks shes not been going to sleep after feed and because i'm breastfeedibg her not sure whether shes had enough or not. Tried putting her down in moses basket in our room after feed but shes wide awake, she'll gurgle for a bit then start screaming tried reassuring her but doesn't help. However feel bad as she always sleeps through til 7 - 8am, however not going to sleep til between 11-midnight which is stressful for me and my husband. Last night i had to go bed as am poorly so he tried to settle her but screamed and thought she wanted feeding so fed for ten mins and she dropped off so using me as a comforter tried dummy no luck! Any tips?

why do you say she is using you as a comforter? If she fed for 10mins, then it's sounds to me as though she had a feed.

Both my DC's used to feed to sleep on me, but that worked well for us.

she'd had a 45 min feed an hour before and she didn't take very much her suckling is different when she just going off to sleep.

not really any tips but sympathy as dd was same and got a bit desperate too. (tocuh wood) seems to be getting better (now 18 weeks) - still wants cuddle but can be put down when sleepy.. I'd just stick with keeping her fed/sleeping in routine you've got and try and work on putting her down without cuddlng/feeding to sleep in day.. thats what I did and dd seemed to click into self settling bit better (still not perfect) after a week or so...no point trying it if she is poorly/tired or you are though

also good friend has theory (as also goes the emma route re sleeping on her) that her dc cries less/is generally happier and better at sleeping like this than other dc that she didn't do this for. So there are benefits although as you say there are times you do want some time/space to yourself

14 weeks is classic growth spurt time. She could well have been hungry even after a 45 min feed. A lot of babies cluster feed in the evenings as that's when they get loads of creamy hind milk which is how they sustain themselves through until morning. My DS cluster fed all bloody night to sustain himself through the days when the boobs were off at work.
