Baby won’t sleep at night

Ok thank you all! Once she is asleep she sleeps straight through just takes nearly two hours getting her to finally fall asleep! I didn’t know whether a later bed time would help as she is in a very good routine with everything else!

I am due in 5 weeks and want to have her completely sleep trained before the sleepless nights start all over again!

Is there such a thing? Lots of things get in the way of sleep: teething, being unwell, too hot, too cold, babies crying. Can’t help but think you’re making your baby do something impossible here.

You can’t force sleep. There’s loads of regressions, it’s ridiculous to expect a tiny baby to be consistent - their sleep changes frequently just like the rest of them.
Is she in a leap or regression? Teething?

You can’t completely “sleep train”, your baby is their own person.

Babies brains use different parts for their day and night sleep, which is why babies can sleep well in their cot during the day but not at night or vice versa.

You’ll need to sleep train her for night sleep, which is actually easier than nap time as she has more “weight of sleep” on her side at night

Make sure you have good sleep habits set up - routine before bed, blackout blinds and the correct wake windows before bed

Hi! I was wondering if anyone else is or has gone through a similar situation - my 10 month old that I have recently sleep trained goes down for a nap during the day fine maybe whinges for a minute but settles herself straight away but at night cries hysterically as soon as I leave the room!

I have tried night light, lullabies, singing to her and nothing is working!

If I stay in there she just starts playing around in her cot as soon as I leave she cries again!

I am due in 5 weeks and want to have her completely sleep trained before the sleepless nights start all over again!

Any advice appreciated smile
