Nap times!!

Hi everyone!

My son is 7 months old, he sleeps in his crib at night time and it’s going very well. He has to have a bottle just before I lay him down for him to go to sleep which is absolutely fine.

Nap times on the other hand I have no idea what to do! He only sleeps during the day if I drive him about in the car which is obviously very expensive.

How do I get him to take naps in his crib? He used a white noise machine at night time too and I have black out blinds in his room. But for some reason whenever I give him a bottle in his room with the sound machine on he just won’t take a nap in there?! He just lays there making loads of noise or crying!

Can someone please help me try and get him to sleep in his cribs for naps!

Thank you
Xxxxx

When he’s crying, go in very calmly, reassure and pat him in his cot but don’t get up him. You could sing or stroke him too. Leave and if he continues to cry go back after a couple of minutes to comfort him and repeat repeat repeat. This approach worked wonders for my DS and totally changed our lives. Now he loves nothing more than going for his nap

Thank you!

I can’t wait for the day I don’t have to stress about him having a nap!

Then you’ll miss the days that he slept and you had a break Grin

Haha yeah I bet!

He’s currently laying in his crib going mum mum mum mum mum

Do I just leave him? I’ve been in once to try and calm him down but that just made him cry.

I just wanted to say, this is exactly what my DS done at this age. I had to go for a drive 3-4 times a day for at least 30 mins and then sit in the car or try to carry the seat in silently. He eventually grew out of it thankfully. We still have to go for a drive some days just for a quick afternoon nap but not everyday (he's 14 months now). I didn't know what to do at the time so just went with it (even though its awfully expensive!).

If he is just chatting away to himself i would leave him be! Some babies need a little chatter and a roll about before falling asleep. Obviously if he cries go in, but otherwise leave him to it!
