Baby/toddler having nightmares?

My 15 month old has been waking from naps/night time sleep sobbing and howling. He's generally a very jolly chap and apart from his teeth playing up (sorted with Calpol), is showing no signs of pain/distress whilst awake.

He breastfeeds at nap time, night time and when he feels like it when I'm home. Generally still awake when I put him down for a sleep.

Is this a phase? I can't remember DS1 (aged 5) doing it but his babyhood is a fog of poorly remembered fatigue!

Dd is 20 months and has been doing this at night on and off for the last few months. It always coincides with a tooth erupting so I put it down to the tooth niggling thats waking her up

That's reassuring. I think I can see 2 under the surface. Poor wee man - I guess Calpol doesn't help woth2 the knawing pain. I appreciated teething pain so much more when my wisdom tootg came through!
