Hi everyone!
Hoping someone can make everything better?
I have a two year old girl, who is TALL! She's the size of a three year old. At about 19 months she realised she could just jump out of her crib and since then, she's ended up in our bed. Before that she would play in her crib for a while, drink her bottle and eventually go to bed, but as soon as she realised she could just walk out her room - that was the end of that!
Because it was unsafe, we ordered her a new bed (which we are still waiting for!!) and have been lying with her in our bed until she falls asleep but it's taking forever! Tried leaving, she follows (she can open doors). We lie with he and she messes about endlessly - we've tried ignoring, being firm, affection/engaging softly, swapping between us! But bedtime is taking about about 1.5 hours every night!
My husband and I work full time and it's a big chunk of the evening just lay in a dark room and we are becoming quite disconnected. She's never been a good sleeper and it's an ongoing challenge!
When the new bed comes, she will be moving over into there, but will still likely have to lie with her.
What do we do??! Any tips?
