Dr Richard Ferber night feeds method

Hello

I'm looking for a little support for anyone who's tried the night feed weening method? My little boy is literally the textbook case so I'm confident I can solve the problem, but it would be really nice to hear from others who've had success from it. So far over two nights I've got him feeding every two hours instead of every one hour, I'm just finding it hard when I'm so tired in the middle of the night and just want to give it. Any tips and hints would be super appreciated!

Thanks

I should add, my little boy is almost 6 months so shouldn't be feeding through the night anymore.

Not all babies can sleep through without a feed at 6 months. My ds was bottle fed and took until 8 months. Is your baby taking much in the way of solid food yet?

I don't mind a fees though the night but 5 or 6 is too much. Yes he has porridge of an evening and had just started with a little bit of puree at lunch

Oh god I remember this with great clarity - 3 years on!

I used to co-sleep tbh, Dd would latch herself and I’d barely even wake up. I never tried the Ferber method, but friends have used it with great success.

Ha nice to know I'm not alone! I've had fab success with the self settling, especially for cot naps. But I've not heard anybody talk about the increasing time between feeds method so thought I'd reach out!

@MamtoThomas

Breast!

Then i wouldn't start night weaning until he's on 3 meals a day and eating proper portions. DD fed every 2 or 3 hours until 10 months, when we night weaned, so i feel your pain, but 6m is young to not feed overnight, especially if breastfed

I appreciate the input but I'm really just reaching out of anyone who's tried the method, just following the guidance in the book
