Dropping the nap(1 Post)
My DD is 2.5 and I can tell she is gradually starting to need less sleep. Overnight she usually sleeps roughly 8pm until about 7.30am and then has a 1.5hr nap roughly 1.30pm-3pm. At nursery 3 days a week she usually has 1hr nap roughly 12.30-1.30pm, sometimes a bit less. One day this week she slept for 30 mins at nursery and she was particularly grumpy by bed time, but she managed. Last night she only slept 8.20pm-6.15am.
I think I will start by waking her from her nap after 1hr? Does the nap just go gradually and one day they will have one and one day they won't etc? Should I start going with the flow a bit more than my old more regimented approach haha? For example, she often tries to drop off between 11am and 1pm in the pram if we are on our way home somewhere and I always do my best to keep her awake so she has a nice nap in her bed once we're in rather than a 20/30 min nap on the way home and nowt else, but maybe now she's bigger I should just let her be and she'll cope?
