Weaning off bedtime bottle

My 17 month has been on just the 1 bedtime bottle since 12 months. During the day he isn’t interested in milk at all but drinks lots of water out of his soppy cup. He has had a lot of teeth come through recently so I am keen to get rid of the bedtime bottle. But It is the way he gets drowsy to fall asleep. He doesn’t fall asleep on the bottle but it really helps get him get sleepy, usually he is asleep within 20 mins of having the bottle.
Does anyone have any tips on what weaning off the bottle? I feel I will need something else in its place to help get him sleep as he is such an active toddler it can be really hard to settle him otherwise. Once asleep he is a great sleeper, sleeping through most nights.
TIA

I think it's fine at his age, just brush his teeth afterwards.

Could you do warm milk from a cup, quick teeth brush and then bed?

You could water down the milk gradually over several weeks, till your just giving him water & then he'll likely give it up. Did this with DD & worked well.

Reading with interest as DS 17 months still has his bedtime bottle. I’m not overly concerned just now but I do need to start thinking about it. He doesn’t fall asleep on it either but it definitely chills him out!

We totally switched up the bedtime routine and introduced new cues.

Went cold turkey with the bottle.

Bought a new nighttime book and read this at bedtime every night prior to ditching the bottle, also sang the same song etc so it was utterly clear it was bedtime

And just said 'no' if a bottle was asked for

Worked fabulously

We offered my daughter milk from a cup, which she had a bit off but not as much, then decided after a few days she didn’t want it at all. I had read that they don’t really want the milk they just want the bottle, and the cup is a half way house. Worked for us, but I wouldn’t worry too much about one bottle a day at 17 months if he reacts badly to attempts to remove it!

Hi Hun our little boy is 2 and still having a bottle before bed...health visitor said to try and get him off the bottle when he was 12 months but he's happy and sleeps through so we just make sure we brush his teeth after his bottle xx

We sent him to his grandparents and forgot to pack a bottle. They improvised with a sippy cup and we never went back... he now has a sippy cup of milk before his bath. He has a story and a cuddle in his room to wind down before bed.
