in a chicco bouncer chair during day

mind you ...he never sleeps in it for long anyway

just it is the one thing i always try to put him to settle...

but curious what other mumsnetters think

just to have him sleep half an hour in it during day is something

as he would never settle on back in basket

is a bouncer bad for back etc?

my 5 week old is asleep as we speak in a bouncy chair.... it wasn't palnned that was.. I was trying to wake her up... but its supposed to be the liying flat that is important, rather than in car seats. bouncy chairs aren't great - but sleep is important too - find a happy medium...

no, I think it is because the lumbar curve in the back hasn't developed yet, so the best position for the back is straight... try telling that to a baby !!

I know what you mean about the sleeping on your front thing... I actually got DD to sleep on her back on our bed this morning by sticking my finger in her mouth... she fell asleep trying to chew it off... cruel.

but a baby with reflux should sleep at angle - so how coincide with its needs to be flat?

argh!!

on a flat surface - which can be tilted for the reflux problem.. doesn't have to be horizontal..... just flat...

bubmbly - if he sleeps then go ahead. My DS slept in his carseat during the day when he was the age of your DS. When he DID sleep I was so bloody relived that I was too scared to move him anywhere else.

Bumbly, I think it's fine to vary where they sleep.

How are things BTW? I think I responded to your thread a few weeks ago about you not getting support from your mum and DH and worrying that you were doing things wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just interesting to know how people are getting on.
