10 month old waking too early??

Morning all! My 10 month old has started waking up at 6am (goes down around 6pm and sleeps through). She used to wake up at 7am but because she's waking so early im having to put her down at 8am because she's woken too early (it seems). Im due to start work soon so worrying about the time of her naps when she goes to childcare. She generally only sleeps for 45 mins at a time and used to have 3 naps a day (2 morning and one afternoon) but she has also started to skip her afternoon nap the last week or so. I have no idea if this is a sleep regression or if its simply her new get up time. I know 6am is a normal wake time for a baby and she will have slept for 12hrs, I'm just not sure how to sort her morning nap so she isnt asleep by the time i need to take her to childcare. Any advice or suggestions welcome!

Perhaps try moving her bedtime to 7pm. Remember the clocks changed last week and she won’t have got the memo so for her body clock out 6pm is her 5pm.

What happens if you put her down at 7? 6 is quite early still.

Also I wouldn't stress about naps and childcare. They generally find their own rhythm on those days and your childminder will be well used to it.

@lunawuna thank you, I didn't even think about the clocks (not sure what day it is these days!). We have been pushing her bedtime back 15 mins every other day which hasnt worked as yet but will carry on...consistency is the biggest thing I've learnt so far with a baby!

As above; the hour has changed. As well it is really light at that time and the birds are singing. It feels like the morning. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about 6am , it's ok being up at that time and She will probably settle.

I think dropping down to two naps is completely normal at this age (in fact relatively late). So you may have to re-jig the whole routine a bit?

@Stet thank you. We've been pushing her bedtime back 15 mins which hasn't resulted in any change but it's not been very long at all. I used to think 6am was way too early but the poor girl is absolutely exhausted lol. Its good to know about the childcare, I guess im like every other FTM worrying about anything and everything!

@OuterMongolia I agree, when you think you've got a routine down, it all changes!
