My almost 6mo won't sleep in his cot! HELP!

Okay so my almost 6mo slept in a Moses basket from birth. We have a big mamas and papas cot but it's way too big for him and my DD never slept in it because it was too big for her.

I bought a travel cot for him and at first he loved it. He slept in there nicely from 11pm till 7am when he wanted a feed and then would normally go back to sleep for a few more hours (were a late household!). For the past 6 weeks he has been going to sleep a little earlier around 10ish and I would dream feed him around 11 and then he'd be knocked out until half 1/2 o'clock to which he would not settle back until in my arms. He will not go back in his cot either he just wants to sleep in the bed with me! I already have DD in the bed with us so I'm worried it's not safe for him and i just don't sleep very well. He doesn't sleep for more than 45 mins during the day and has maybe 3/4 naps. He falls asleep very quick which I can't fault but I can't seem to keep him asleep whether it's in the day or if it's at night.

I've tried different sleeping bags, I can no longer swaddle as he's showing signs he will roll over soon. I've tried the lavender spray for babies (it worked the first night but not after that!). I try to pat him and shush him and rock him in his cot which works but then he wakes after 10 minutes. I've even tried getting my scent on to his sheets and blankets but I am at wits end!

Any helpful advice is appreciated. What worked for your little ones? I'm not expecting him to sleep through the night even though he used to nicely. I just want him to love the cot again!

Sleepyhead worked amazingly for me. DD was the same, as soon as she woke/unsettled herself we would up and down till morning. I ordered a sleepyhead and she's slept fine from around 11 to 8 from the first night.

@iamDdog how long did your DD use it for? What age do they go up to? I'm aware they're quite pricey and I don't mind spending the money as long as DS gets plenty of use out it.

I bought it at 4 months and she just turned 6 months and is nearly growing out of it. She will sleep just fine in my bed, I think it's just that she doesn't like the firm mattress in her cot.

I bought mine in a sleep deprived panic for just over £100 new on eBay but there are much cheaper ones available which I would imagine are just as good.

@iamDdog thank you! I have found some great alternatives on amazon and I'm really hoping they work! Stay safe ✊🏽
