It's shite but THIS TOO SHALL PASS. I won't say the age nightmare DS started sleeping through at, but it will happen ☺ Your revenge idea sounds good. Mine is lawnmower on a Sunday when he's a hungover teenager.

Grin I remember when mine went through this stage and the wee fuckers left that stage behind and could happily sleep for days on end now but have left me with the worst insomnia issues I’ve ever had (thought I’d passed this stage of insomnia after my teen years Angry) it’ll pass eventually but if you have a dp or dm who can help out for just even one night so you can catch up on some sleep it’s well worth asking aha I look back on those days with absolutely no envy at all they were absolutely fucking horrendous I hope your little one finally figures out the joys of sleep soon Grin

My late DM's revenge - not really for lack of sleep, but everything else - was curtains and windows wide open, even in winter, and the hoover on by the bed. Still pains me to think about!

Here's to you, OP, and all sleep deprived parents BrewCakeFlowers

I wonder how much postage would be on ebay...

I recommend the book "Go the f* to sleep"

I'm in exactly the same boat OP! 15 month dd has always been a shit sleeper but the last week or so she has truly surpassed herself. It's horrible, completely feel your pain.

Soul destroying isn’t it. I entertain myself by trying to work out exactly how many days it’s been since I’ve had an unbroken nights sleep, plus fantasising about the hugest, softest cosiest bed in the quietest, poshest hotel I can think of :)

Owlettele · 15/01/2019 02:41

Absolutely feel you. My fucking husband is there snoring his bloody head off next to us and the 17 month old is up again. 17 months without sleep. I just want to drive away and never fucking come back. I cannot do this anymore. If he'd been the first he would have been an only child without a doubt.

Yes I love them dearly. But fucks sake I deserve some bloody sleep.

Don’t be so stupid OP

You made her, you can sell her on Etsy for a far higher price than you’d fetch on eBay.

I've definitely got one here. Shall we sell them as a bundle?

Report
Kittykat93 · 15/01/2019 03:18

Can we do buy one get one free? I'm currently up for the third time with 14 month old ds and probably will be up for the next hour and a half.

I’ll offer you a swap, I have a rather tame Tyrannosaurus rex, very cuddly when not hungry, like a baby really!

Can I add my 16 month DS into the bundle? Been up for fours with him! I think I've forgotten what it's like sleep

My 2.5 yo has been waking 7 times a night for the past four months. I cry daily.

teatwosugarspls · 15/01/2019 03:48

Can I add my nearly 3 year old on too please? Jeez... I thought we'd cracked sleeping but for the last 3 weeks she's been a nightmare 😩😩

My ds was an absolute nightmare. I lost count of the number of nights I sat there sobbing and swearing under my breath as he screamed and cried and refused to sleep. The gp prescribed piriton to 'help' him sleep - it sent him fucking hyper and manic (apparently quite a rare side effect). He screamed and cried and cried and screamed. Turns out he was dairy intolerant, had sleep apnoea and adhd. He is now 4 and an amazing sleeper. It will pass. It's ok to feel completely demonic. Do you ever get a break? Dh was deployed overseas for much of the early years (lucky fucker) but I found dropping ds off at nursery and crashing out for a couple of hours in the day allowed me to survive.

I will be waking ds every Saturday on the dot at 6am for as long as he is in my house once he starts enjoying lie ins 😂

Have you spoken to your hv and gp?

Report
Roguebludger · 15/01/2019 03:51

Why won't he just shut the fuck up and sleep.

Are e-bayers going to bid or is she 'buy it now', open to offers? Is she strong limbed and determined? She could clean my chimneys ;). ( If I had any), kitchen could do with a bit of a wipe - which is an understatement. She could manage to 'bottom travel' around it with cleaning cloths attached to nappy, bit young for standing up wielding a broom and mop.....

Flowers and a few of these Wine.
All things pass. Breathe.....

There's a reason that sleep deprivation is used as torture, and very successful it is too.

Personally, I'd settle for free for collection.

Or I could even provide free delivery.

Sale! Everything must go!

Guess what everyone? It's still bullshit!!! But in the last 6 weeks she's become SO much smarter and she's really fucking pushing her luck now. I am going to try and find a sleep routine schedule and take some time off work to train her with my husband. He has a week off before starting a new job next month so I think that'll be the time to bite the bullet before I lose my mind completely. And he wants another baby! He must be out of his fucking mind, I pretty much hate parenthood.

Grin glad things are better now OP!

I used to fantasise about my son’s teenage years and how I was going to get my own back later on. Still got a few years to go but I can assure you I haven’t forgotten Wink
