Sleep

5 month old suddenly only taking 30minute naps

My Dd2 has always been a fairly good sleeper (better than dd1 was anyway 😂) but suddenly she's started only napping for 30minutes. She's was having 4 naps with the first 2being 1-1.5hrs the 3rd 45min and last one about 30mins but suddenly they are all only 30mins and she refuses the 4th one completely (even feeding yo sleep she only has 5mins!) so shes awake far too long for bedtime at 6pm. I've recently tried to stretch out her awake time a little to see if that would help (was 1- 1hr 20ish now 1.5-2hrs) particularly with dropping 4th nap but it made no difference.
I wouldn't mind too much but I can tell she's exhausted and gets quite upset. She settles herself for her naps and bedtime and sleeps ok at night.
Think she might be teething but no sign of tooth and whilst she's dribbling lots and chewing everything she's always been s bit like that so not sure.
Any advice/help greatly appreciated.
Oh I've tried trying to help her extend by going in and putting hand on belly and rocking her (used to work well) but doesn't seem to work anymore.
Thanks in advance...

In addition to the above she has also started doing a great stint of say 8-10hrs asleep at night and then waking up feeding and not going back off to sleep so not getting enough nighttime sleep either! Going to have a really overtired 5 month old soon she's gone from having about 15hrs total sleep a day to just 10-12hrs which I know isn't enough!!

The four month sleep regression can go on for a while, ours started at 4.5 months, naps were a nightmare and 30 mins was considered good.

It will pass

Has you're little one had any development leaps? Rolling etc all messed up DDs sleep as well

We found at around that age she actually wanted to sleep on her front, once I twigged that she was easier to settle

@killemwithkindness thank you that's good to know it's normal! We had a bit of a regression at 4months with night sleep but that got back on track and now naps have gone 😩 guess it's all just one big regression! Thanks
