Sleep

3 month old hardly sleeps in the day.

Anyone else? At best he catnaps once in a morning And once in an afternoon which I think is terrible! He sometimes goes off in the car but unless I’m doing a long journey (which is hardly ever) he will only sleep for the duration and wakes up when the car stops!
He will only fall asleep feeding and if I try to put him down he wakes (fully) within seconds.
By 3pm he is fully awake until his bedtime at around 8pm. I try to get him to catnap at around tea time but usually has none of it.
The only upside is that he is a great night time sleeper and only wakes once (sometimes twice) in 12 hours and goes right back to sleep after a feed. I know I shouldn’t complain and want the best of both worlds but he gets really ratty and will just yawn all day long. Does anyone have any tips to get him to either sleep longer for those two naps or add in a few extra catnaps! What worked for you?

What are you counting as naps ? Snoozing after a feed is a nap. Once he gets a bit older he will be easier to shift off you as he will sleep deeper in the daytime. Two naps a day is normal from about 3-4 months as they are no longer newborns Sad

He will literally sleep maybe twice in the day for about half an hour MAX each time. He doesn’t go off after every feed. (He’s still feeding every 2 hours) it just seems so little sleep for a 12 hour period during the day

Ds was like this. He was classed as an alert baby which basically meant he never slept. He still fights sleep now at 15 months. I recommend going with the flow, your baby will sleep when he is tired and it gets better with time.
