What (not) to wear for an 8 week old to sleep

So our baby is a restless sleeper who HATES blankets with passion. spends so much energy kicking them off, pointless to even try to stick him underneath. The temp in the room is between 18-22, sometimes drops to around 17, all depending on the temp outside really.
We have a grobag and chicco sleeping bags and I was wondering what should we dress him in to go into the sleeping bag. Would a sleeveless bodysuit and a sleep suit be good enough, or is it too much?
The grobag a 3.5 tog- will it be too hot? Should I just put him in a sleepsuit then?

The gro website has quite a good guide.

I can't do links but here....

gro.co.uk/what-to-wear/#EN

I think a 3.5tog may be a bit warm for your room temperature

Thank you!
Seems the chicco which is 2.5 might be more suitable.
Wonder though, how do people deal with changing temperatures in the room? We don't have a thermostat, so the temp varies. I don;t want to overheat the baby, or for it to freeze if they are not dressed enough!

We usually did sleeveless vest, sleepsuit and 2.5tog grobag in Winter. Long sleeved vest, no sleepsuit, 1tog in summer.

Presumably your 8 week old still wakes a bit at night so pop a hand down their back at first waking. If they feel hot and sweaty go down a layer, if their body feels cold (don’t worry about cold hands - that’s common in babies regardless of body temp) switch to the 3.5 tog.
