Sleep

How old is your baby and how often do they night feed?

Tmgc123 · 23/01/2018 16:05

As the post says... age of baby, number of night feeds, and breast, bottle, or combi?

My baby is 5.5 months and has gone from a 10pm,1am,3am and 6am feed, to all the bloody time as far as I can tell!

Apparently she should only be feeding once at this age, but from what I can tell that’s not actually the norm!

Would like to know what your little guys do.

Oh and she’s EBF, and until recently has fed to sleep with those awkward cot transfers, but trying to work on it.

4.5 months and ff. Only feeds about twice a night but won't sleep for more than 40minutes in his cot just now regardless of how much milk he has had.

I'm not joking at all. He wakes up constantly and won't settle unless he has a boob in his face. I don't think I have slept for more than an hour at a time for months.

9mo bf, seems to want feed constantly between 2-6am 😱 although we are cosleeping so it could just be because they are right there lol

8 months, breastfed, another one that feeds all the bloody time. On a good night she'll go two hours between feeds, on a bad night I just give up trying to go to bed.

14 months bf, sleeps through most nights. When he wakes can also be settled by daddy

You’re lucky @albuspercival, I’m happy for you!

Seems BF is a treasure and a curse. Settled them so well, but they love it so much they want it all the time. Someone described it as they’re addicted.

@ruleshelpcontrolthefun

My 16 month old DD is the same.

3/4 feeds last night (honestly I don't wake up properly anymore so can't count) and that was a great night for her.

If she's under the weather she literally uses me as a dummy.

I should add I only bf at night now so I think I've built in some bad habits because she does associate it with sleep.

7 months - on average 2-3 feeds a night. Can be hourly though! I was hoping weaning would help cut them down but no huge difference so far.

11 month old ff. Started sleeping through the night this week out of nowhere.

Before this she was going to bed at 630 and feeding at 11pm and 3am. Up for the day around 630-7.

She is now going to bed 630 and I am waking her at 630am to ensure she can fit in 2 naps...will be transitioning to one nap very soon.

We did nothing to get her sleeping through, and only a week earlier had had a conversation about night weaning where we decided it wasn't for us and we would trust she would stop night feeding when she was ready.

It might not last, but at 7 months pregnant I have welcomed the full night's sleep minus multiple trips to the bathroom

8 months old and bf. Wakes on average twice a night. Used to be bed at 7pm then at least 1am for first feed but recently he’s all Over the place and feeding doesn’t send him back to sleep. Once on a good night but this is quite rare!

Ds2 is only 5 weeks so is still all over the place obviously but he is ff and has a feed around 9pm then wakes around 1ish for a feed then goes through till 5-6 ish. I'm fully prepared for this to change a million times in the next few months.
It's amazing how different they all are, special and unique (and a pain in the bum at times).

4 months FF. Goes to sleep 6.30ish, either feed at 3am or midnight and 4am. Plus often wakes at 5am but can be settled without food.

Just coming to high five all the others with 16 months old.
Rare nights we have 1/2 feeds, others it seems it's milk party central.
There is no pattern, there is no normal. When I think we have a pattern it changes so I just take it as it comes.
We also mostly co-sleep.

3 and half years. DD2 feeds twice a day - first thing in the morning and bedtime.

She was feeding up to every hour overnight until we night weaned her at 2 years.
