Move from Moses to cot bed- tell me it gets better

Just had night 2 of trying to move DD (15 weeks) from Moses basket to cot bed.

She is large for her age (7.5kg) and has looked comically big for her basket for a few weeks. Her arms well and truly touch the sides. I optimistically hoped she would 'enjoy the space' like many say about their move to cot.

I was wrong Sad It seems she likes the comfort of touching the sides. She goes in asleep and then wakes the first time she moves and finds nothing on either side.

Both nights have given up trying at 2am, after several attempts at settling.

Someone tell me you had the same and it got better!

I had exactly the same, I started out by putting the Moses basket in the cot till she was comfortable then moving her out of the basket into the cot. I also put the cot next to my bed as she seemed to prefer being able to see me.
DD is 13 months now and does sleep in her cot without complaint. This too shall pass Flowers

The basket to cot move is a red herring. This issue here is the change from fourth trimester passive sleep to more adult-like active sleep in sleep cycles. It happens around 3-4 months.

Your issue is baby is not going to sleep where does stays asleep.

She needs you how from awake to asleep in the cot. Not to be put in there already asleep. A dummy helps with this.

Thanks both!

I had read about not transferring when asleep, but it still works for her in the Moses- she slept for 4 hrs straight in there just now, when I gave up on cot bed at 3.30am.

The cold weather may also have something to do with it...

It’s more likely that it’s coicided with the 4 month sleep regression🙈

You could try a rolled up tower under the sheet in a kind of elongated c shape.
