Just wondered if anyone has experience of this. My dd is 10 months, never been a great sleeper but has improved lots and now usually only wakes twice a night for a quick breastfeed (massive improvement from waking every 2 hours for the first 6 months!).
The problem is if we ever go away for a weekend, eg to visit family, she just will not sleep. I know she's somewhere new and having to sleep in travel cot, but we try as much as possible to keep her routine the same - bath, feed, bed in her sleeping bag with her white noise machine. She's goes off to sleep fine by herself but then wakes every hour all night!
We're away this weekend so just ended up co sleeping with her with her feeding pretty much all night. She still woke every hour but at least she was closer, but we're just exhausted. I know when we get home we'll be in for a rough few nights as a result of her broken sleep and her being attached to breast all night.
Is there anything we can do? Should we just avoid traveling anywhere with her overnight until she's older? Dp thinks we'll never be able to go on holiday again, tell me it gets better!
