Scared myself

I was out with my cousin and our DC today. We decided to take a short train journey at the request of one of the DC to buy pumpkins to decorate.
As DS is in pram I had to take the lift up and down to the platform. On our return journey I got out the lift and the train home (only 1 stop) was arriving at the platform.
For some reason I got it in to my head that we were on the wrong platform. My cousin insisted we weren’t & a man even backed her up saying we were on the right side.
I had a bit of a freak out and insisted that we were on the wrong side refusing to get on the train. I’ve used this station my whole life & was convinced we were about to get on the wrong train.
The train left and it dawned on me that we were on the right side. No big deal we had to wait another 7 mins for the next one.
I’ve never felt so disorientated ever.
It’s worried me slightly that I would make this error in judgement but to be so convinced about it!
I can only put it down to 5 months of sleep deprivation.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

That sounds scary OP. What is your situation? How old is baby - 5 months? Are you breastfeeding? Are you cosleeping? I have certainly had moments where I have been hallucinating but only a few times when nights have been really bad (I’m 9 months in).

Yeah he’s 5 months and we are co sleeping. I’m breastfeeding but he won’t take a dummy - well actually I’m his dummy! He’s my 3rd so you’d think I’d know what I’m doing but my other 2 took a dummy and self soothed well despite also co sleeping.
Some days I’m fine but on others it just hits me. He sleeps through the night but pretty much attached to me.
He seems to have a good stint between 7 & 10ish where he won’t stir at all & I know that’s when I should be sleeping too but with 3 kids I crave some downtime and so find myself watching TV or just being on my own so I need to pick the odd night to sleep at this time too.

It was just unsettling at how disorientated I was. I felt like I’d gone mad especially as everyone was telling me but I wouldn’t have it - weird!!
Must have dropped down a rabbit hole temporarily (I hope!).
What sort of hallucinations did you have?

I suffered months of sleep deprivation with DS1 and DS2 not much better. I'll have had maybe four or five hours disturbed sleep for weeks on end, but never suffered anything like what you describe. I have had my memory totally fail though. People ask me about something that happened yesterday and I just cannot recall it.
If it were me I'd run it by a doctor just to be sure. I have suffered concussion once, and that was as disorientating as what you describe, I think I can also be delayed.

Sounds like you're exhausted. Confusion like that can be a sign of exhaustion. I've suffered grrrible sleep
Deprivation with DS2 for
10 months now, and had memory black outs many time. Forgot my credit card pin code, got the time wrong, forgot what day it was etc. Please try to get some rest by whatever's means necessary. Your health is at stake
