Baby is 10 months.
Has been an absolutely brilliant sleeper all her life and has slept 12 hours from 12 weeks And 13 or 14 hours from about 4/5 months. At 8 months we had a tough couple weeks whilst cutting 4 teeth combined with an ear infection. Since then she went back to her old routine of 7pm-8am for about a week but the last week has been awful. She settles no problem at 6.30/7pm but has been waking around 10/11pm and not getting back to sleep until 12/1am then waking for the day at 6am.
We have never had to use any form of sleep coaching or even give consideration to her sleep as she's always been such a dream but I now suspect this is bad habits forming as well as just a phase of development or teething etc. She has never had much in the way of daytime naps which I assumed was because of the amount of sleep she was getting at night. Lately she has about 1 hour around late morning. She is knackered bless her (And so are we!!)
We have been chaotic in our approach to this waking as we just assumed it was a night or two whilst teething but it appears she's gonna keep this up for a while so I want to stamp it out.
I don't want to give her a bottle at night, we have done so the last couple nights but a) she doesnt really want it and b) it doesn't seem to have any positive effect on her resettling afterwards.
I'm thinking today I will give her an afternoon nap at 4pm and I assume this will push bedtime back a bit to maybe 8pm. If/when she then wakes tonight I'm going to comfort and replace in cot once and move onto controlled comforting without taking her out of the cot again. I know CC is a bit controversial on here. Anyone else have any other words of wisdom? I refuse to allow my dream baby to vecome.hideous at night after being an absolute angel all her life.
